Why the Western Michigan Broncos will win

  • The home team has won eight of Ohio’s last nine games.
  • Ohio has lost three of its last four road games.
  • The home team has covered the spread in each of Ohio’s last five games.
  • Ohio has failed to cover the spread in each of its last three road games.
  • Western Michigan has won the first half in three of its last four games against conference opponents.

Total Points Facts

  • Seven of Ohio’s last eight road games in November have gone UNDER the total points line.
  • Six of Western Michigan’s last seven November games as an underdog have gone UNDER the total points line.

Matchup/League Facts

  • Western Michigan ranks T135th among FBS teams for Q1 points per game this season (1.1).
  • Western Michigan ranks 12th among FBS teams for yards allowed per game this season (291.9).
  • Ohio ranks T124th among FBS teams for 4th down conversion percentage against this season (68.4).
  • Ohio ranks T117th among FBS teams for Q4 opponent points per game this season (8.4).

Western Michigan vs Ohio Prediction

Both of these teams come into this matchup tied for first in the MAC standings with a 4-1 conference record, so this is a huge game for each side. Ohio is an elite home team with a very good quarterback, but they lost to Ball State on the road and nearly lost to Eastern Michigan on the road. Western Michigan is a lower scoring team, but their defense has allowed 14 points or fewer in three of their last five games. If this game was at Ohio, I would love the Bobcats to win, but I have to side with Western Michigan due to Ohio’s inconsistencies on the road.
