The Wyoming Cowboys meet the Ball State Cardinals Saturday in week 3 college football action at the Jonah Field at War Memorial. The Ball State Cardinals need a win here to get a game above a .500 record. The Wyoming Cowboys look for another win after beating Montana State and Northern Illinois.

The Ball State Cardinals have split their last four road games. Drew Plitt is completing 62.7 percent of his passes for 364 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Justin Hall and Jayshon Jackson have combined for 237 receiving yards and two touchdowns while Yo’Heinz Tyler has six receptions. The Ball State Cardinals ground game is averaging 144 yards per contest, and Will Jones leads the way with 109 yards and one touchdown. Defensively, Ball State is allowing 32.5 points and 465 yards per game. Jaylin Thomas leads the Ball State Cardinals with 16 tackles, Tavion Woodard has three sacks and Nic Jones has one interception.

The Wyoming Cowboys look for their second 3-0 start in the last three years. Sean Chambers is completing 57.1 percent of his passes for 400 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Ayden Eberhardt and Isaiah Neyor have combined for 239 receiving yards and two touchdowns while Xazavian Valladay has three receptions. The Wyoming Cowboys ground game is averaging 171 yards per contest, and Valladay leads the way with 178 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, Wyoming is allowing 29.5 points and 400 yards per game. Chad Muma leads the Wyoming Cowboys with 21 tackles, Victor Jones has 1.5 sacks and Rome Weber has one interception.

The Cardinals are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Cowboys are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games on turf. The under is 5-0 in Cardinals last 5 games overall. The under is 32-15-1 in Cowboys last 48 games overall.

The Ball State Cardinals have serious defensive concerns, especially against the pass, and they weren’t all that impressive against Western Illinois in their season opener either. The Wyoming Cowboys have issues of their own, but they’re fresh off a 50-piece against Northern Illinois and has a quarterback who has shown flashes here and there. This is likely going to be a high scoring game between two defenses that can struggle, but Wyoming has the edge overall to pull this out. Wyoming has four players already with a rushing touchdown. Give me the Cowboys.
