Jacob deGrom – Over 9 Strikeouts
Similar to our reasons last night with liking Max Scherzer, (who has recorded at least 8 k’s agianst ATL in each of his three starts agianst the Braves this season), deGrom has the similar upside and has looked lights out since returning from injury. With his pitch count raising with a few starts since his injury and his 15.9 K/9 ratio, I think he has no trouble picking up double-digit K’s agianst a Braves team that ranks 28th in team strikeout rate.
Juan Soto – Over 8.5 Hitter Fantasy Score
Juan Soto is by far the top offensive fantasy player tonight in his mathcup agianst the RHP Anibal Sanchez wh ocomes into this game with 7.20 ERA & 1.60 WHIP. Sanzhez has been better against LHB’s, however, still is allowing opponents to post a .286 avgerage, .571 SLG %, & .934 OPS. Soto hasn’t had much success agianst Sanchez in the past however, I think the San Diego offense has a big night overall with Soto in the middle of it and he does enough to get us over this 8.5 hitter fantasy score.

Here are the selections below:
Max Scherzer – Over 8 Strikeouts
Max Scherzer will take the mound against the Atlanta Braves tonight and I expect another dominant performance for Scherzer as he has been lights out in both outings against the Braves this season.
Over 14.0 IP vs. Atlanta, Scherzer is posting an impressive 0.64 ERA against the Mets and more importantly for our pick, has racked up 20 strikeouts against the Braves. Scherzer has been outstanding in terms of strikeouts against RHB’s this as he comes into this with a strikeout rate of 32.6% and a 11.08 K/9 ratio.
Atlanta comes into this game ranked 28th in team strikeout rate and as the Braves have struggled with strikeouts against RHP, I think Mad Max gets another 9+ strikeouts tonight and gets the over in this one.
Pete Alonso – Over 1.5 Total Bases
Staying in the New York vs. Atlanta game, if you haven’t seen my MLB FanDuel Lineup tonight, you know that I’m high on the New York offense tonight as they get a great matchup against the RHP Jake Odorizzi.
Jake Odorizzi hasn’t been terrible this season, however, didn’t fare that well against the Mets earlier this season, lasting just 4.2 innings while giving up 6 hits & walking 3. Odorizzi has always been a reverse splits pitcher and that is no different this season, RHB’s have a higher average, slugging %, & OPS vs the veteran RHP this season. Odorizzi hasn’t fared well in night games, posting a 4.79 ERA and is not much of a strikeout threat as he has just a 6.8 K/9 ratio.
Pete Alonso has had an outstanding August as he is hitting .281 & .870 OPS and has a better batting average (.281) & Slugging % (.535) vs. RHP’s on the season. Alonso has been great during night games, hitting .293 with a .544 slugging % & .935 OPS and as I expect at least one extra base hit tonight, I think taking Over 1.5 bases is the play here.
Jose Ramirez – Over 1.5 Total Bases
Cleveland has one of the better matchups of the night as they face LHP Daniel Norris who comes into this game with a 5.97 ERA while struggling giving up big hits to RHB’s as Norris currently is allowing RHB’s to post a .526 slugging % & .896 OPS against him.
Jose Ramirez has struggled a bit as of late, however, this is still one of the best hitters in the game and comes into this matchup with 22 HR’s, .535 SLG %, & .885 OPS. Ramirez has seen Norris plenty throughout his career and has solid career numbers against him as in 23 AB’s he has posted a .348 average & .878 OPS and as I think he gets an extra base hit tonight, I’m taking the Over 1.5 Total Bases.
