CFB DFS DraftKings Week 1, Daily Fantasy College Football Picks for Friday 9/3/21
Draftkings Main Slate
September 3, 2021 6:00 pm EDT
Friday is a lighter day of college football but there are still seven games on the DraftKings main slate and it kicks off at 6:00 PM ET.
Because of the DraftKings rules, I will give out six of the eight players to fill your lineup. I will also offer a few different flex options that make sense to round out a winning lineup.
If there is late injury news, I will be posting updates on my Twitter (Shanemickle.)
Quarterback: Sam Howell ($8.400) – Sam Howell is going to be high owned, but I don’t see a way you can make a lineup without him in it. When North Carolina and Virginia Tech faced off last year, Howell threw for 257 yards and three touchdowns.
Running Back: Mataeo Durant ($7,200) – Duke and Charlotte faced off last year, and Mataeo Durant had a big game rushing for 104 yards and a couple of scores. Duke is going to lean on Durant and the running game in this one.
Running Back: Raheem Blackshear ($3.600) – Raheem Blackshear is a bit of a risk, but he has a chance for high reward. Virginia Tech has a crowded backfield, but Blackshear is the best running back out of the backfield.
Wide Receiver: Josh Downs ($7,200) – Howell is a dynamic quarterback but he has to throw the ball to someone. North Carolina lost Dazz Newsome and Dyami Brown to the NFL, but Josh Downs looks like he’s ready to take that role. Downs had a big bowl game, and he is going to start this season strong.
Wide Receiver – Khafre Brown ($3,000) – Khafre Brown is another North Carolina wide receiver that should step up with the talent they lost out wide last season. Brown is way too cheat at $3,000 to pass up on.
Wide Receiver – Jalen Nailor ($5,000) – I expect the Michigan State passing offense is going to be better in this game, and Jalen Nailor is going to be a big reason why. Nailor had a couple of breakout games this year, and he will find success against Northwestern in this game.
Flex Plays: With Draftkings not allowing full lineups, let’s look at some other options to fill the rest of your lineup with the $15.600 still available. Jaquarii Roberson ($8.600), Jalen Houston ($4,300), Carson Camp ($5.000). Sam Hartmann ($8.900). Tru Wilson ($4,400), Trey McBride ($6,300),
