More recently, in the Las Vegas Aces 96-92 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks two days ago, Aces center A’ja Wilson played rather well from a statistical perspective. A’ja Wilson accumulated 31 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals and 6 blocks in the Aces loss to the Los Angeles Sparks.

Looking closer at the data just mentioned, in the Las Vegas Aces loss to the Los Angeles Sparks earlier this month, Aces center A’ja Wilson accumulated 65.1 Draftkings points.

Additionally, I like A’ja Wilson’s matchup tonight. Wilson draws a Minnesota Lynx defense that has been unable to consistently defend opposing players in the paint all season. Let me be more specific. Through nine games played in the 2024 WNBA regular season, the Minnesota Lynx are currently ranked a rather low ninth in total points allowed in the paint a game (36.4). For appropriate context, the WNBA has 12 teams in the entire league. Having stated that, being ranked ninth in any defensive category at this point in the season is clearly not good.

For the reasons just noted, I am backing Las Vegas Aces forward A’ja Wilson as my captain for tonight’s Draftkings contest.
