Draftkings Best NBA Showdown Picks: Celtics vs. Heat 4/27/24

Breaking down the best Draftkings picks for this evening's Celtics vs. Heat matchup.

Boston Celtics vs. Miami Heat
April 27, 2024 6:00 pm EDT

The NBA presents a matchup between with the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat. Let’s take a look at this game from a DFS perspective.

Before we dive into the Boston Celtics vs. Miami Heat game let’s review the rules for Draftkings single game showdown contest.

Draftkings Single Game Showdown Contest Rules

You have $50,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team captain. The captain accumulates 1.5 times the standard fantasy points. Additionally, the captain is 1.5 times the standard cost of the flex position.

The remaining four players in your lineup will receive the standard fantasy points. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your captain position if you hope to win a large field DFS GPP (guaranteed prize pool) showdown contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game showdown contest, I recommend that you check out the Draftkings website for more details.

Here are my Draftkings picks for this tonight’s Boston Celtics vs. Miami Heat matchup.

Draftkings Picks

Captain-Tyler Herro $10,200

Yes, I know, that Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown will both be popular choices as captain for this Draftkings contest. Rightfully so. However, with the series shifting to Florida, I am going to pivot to Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro as my captain in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

How important has Tyler Herro been to the Miami Heat offense this season? Let’s take a look at Herro’s recent game statistics to answer that question. In the Miami Heat’s last four games played (including playoffs), Herro has averaged 21 points, 5.3 rebounds, 9 assists, and 0.7 steals a game.

Looking at the data just presented more closely I observed that, in the Miami Heat’s last four games played, Miami guard Tyler Herro has averaged 43.1 Draftkings points a game.

In the Miami Heat’s Game 2 win over the Boston Celtics three days ago, Tyler Herro posted some outstanding DFS numbers. Let me be more specific. Tyler Herro accumulated a whopping 24 points, 5 rebounds, 14 assists, and 1 steal in the Miami Heat victory over the Celtics.

For the reasons just stated, I am backing Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro as my captain for this one game NBA DFS slate.

Flex Plays

Bam Adebayo $9,800

Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo has certainly been a key contributor to this Heat team this season. Having stated that, how has Adebayo been playing recently?

Since the beginning of April, the Miami Heat have played 11 games (including playoffs). In those 11 games just noted, Bam Adebayo has averaged a robust 17.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 0.7 steals, and 1 block a game. It has to be said, those are some outstanding offensive numbers from the Miami Heat center.

Jaime Jaquez $7,200

Last week, talented Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler suffered an injury in a win over the Philadelphia 76ers. Unfortunately for the Miami Heat, the injury that Butler sustained has resulted in the Heat forward missing multiple games. Butler has already been ruled out for this evening’s game.

Butler’s absence in the lineup will allow other Miami Heat players to be more involved in the offensive. I think the most likely candidate to see an increased role within the offense will be Heat forward Jaime Jaquez.

In summary, I expect Jaime Jacquez to continue his outstanding play versus the Boston Celtics in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference playoffs later today.

Additional flex plays I like (Draftkings price noted): Kristaps Porzingis $9,000: Payton Prichard $5,000: Jayson Tatum $11,400: Jaylen Brown $9,200: Caleb Martin $6,200.
