Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Toronto Blue Jays
November 1, 2025 8:00 pm EDT

Later today, Major League Baseball presents Draftkings baseball fans with a World Series matchup featuring the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays. Let’s take a look at this MLB game from a DFS perspective.

Before we dive into the Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Toronto Blue Jays game let’s review the rules for the Draftkings MLB single game showdown contest.

Draftkings Single Game Showdown Contest Rules

You have $50,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team captain. The captain accumulates 1.5 times the standard fantasy points. Additionally, the captain is 1.5 times the standard cost of the flex position.

The remaining four players in your lineup will receive the standard fantasy points. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your captain position if you hope to win a large field DFS GPP (guaranteed prize pool) showdown contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game showdown contest, I recommend that you check out the Draftkings website for more details.

*I recommend that all readers review the starting lineups for both teams prior to setting your DFS lineup for this one game slate.

Here are my Draftkings picks for Friday night’s Dodgers vs. Blue Jays matchup.

Draftkings MLB Showdown Picks

On Saturday night, Major League Baseball presents the final game of a seven-game MLB playoff series featuring the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays.

How are these two teams playing entering this evening’s World Series game? The Los Angeles Dodgers arrive at the seventh game of this seven-game series with the Toronto Blue Jays playing quality baseball. The Dodgers have won 11 of the team’s last 15 games played in the 2025 MLB season, including a 5-1 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays seven days ago.

Similar to the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Toronto Blue Jays are playing good baseball entering the final game of the 2025 World Series. The Blue Jays have won five of the team’s last eight games played in the 2025 MLB season, including an 11-4 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers last week.

Captain-Shohei Ohtani, Starting Pitcher, Los Angeles Dodgers $10,600

Now that we have determined how both of these teams are currently playing let’s turn our attention to tonight’s World Series game. Starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani has certainly been an important part of the Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitching rotation this season. With that said, how has Ohtani performed from a statistical perspective in 2025? Let’s review the talented pitcher’s relevant game data from the 2025 MLB regular season to answer that question.

In 14 starts made in the 2025 MLB regular season, Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani compiled a 1-1 (win-loss record) and a 2.87 ERA (Earned Run Average). It should also be noted that Ohtani amassed a 1.04 WHIP (Walks and Hits per Innings Pitched) and 62 strikeouts while allowing only nine walks in 47 innings pitched this season.

More recently, in the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-1 win over the Milwaukee Brewers last month, Shohei Ohtani pitched six quality innings while scattering two hits and three walks. Additionally, Ohtani struck out ten Milwaukee Brewers batters in the game.

In my opinion, Shohei Ohtani is the most likely player to post the most Draftkings points in this World Series game. For that specific reason, I am backing Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani at the captain position for this one game MLB DFS slate.

Flex plays I like to play well in this World Series game (Draftkings price noted): Max Scherzer, Starting Pitcher (Toronto Blue Jays) $10,400: Vladimir Guerrero Jr., First Baseman (Toronto Blue Jays) $10,200: Teoscar Hernandez, Outfielder (Los Angeles Dodgers) $7,600: Addison Barger, Third Baseman (Toronto Blue Jays) $6,000.
