San Francisco Giants vs. Los Angeles Angels
April 18, 2025 9:38 pm EDT

Major League Baseball presents Draftkings baseball fans with an interleague matchup featuring the San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Angels. Let’s take a look at this MLB game from a DFS perspective.

Before we dive into the San Francisco Giants vs. Los Angeles Angels game let’s review the rules for the Draftkings MLB single game showdown contest.

Draftkings Single Game Showdown Contest Rules

You have $50,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team captain. The captain accumulates 1.5 times the standard fantasy points. Additionally, the captain is 1.5 times the standard cost of the flex position.

The remaining four players in your lineup will receive the standard fantasy points. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your captain position if you hope to win a large field DFS GPP (guaranteed prize pool) showdown contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game showdown contest, I recommend that you check out the Draftkings website for more details.

*I recommend that all readers review the starting lineups for both teams prior to setting your DFS lineup for this one game slate.

Here are my Draftkings picks for tonight’s Giants vs. Angels matchup.

Draftkings MLB Showdown Picks

Captain-Logan Webb, Starting Pitcher, San Francisco Giants $12,000

On Friday night, Major League Baseball presents the opening game of a three-game interleague series featuring the San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Angels.

How are these two teams playing entering tonight’s MLB game? The San Francisco Giants arrive at the first game of this three-game series with the Los Angeles Angels playing good baseball. More specifically, the San Francisco Giants have won five of the team’s last seven games played in the 2025 MLB regular season, including a dominant 11-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies.

Conversely, the Los Angeles Angels are currently playing below average baseball entering this evening’s game. The Angeles have lost five of the team’s last six games played in the 2025 MLB regular season, including an embarrassing 14-3 loss to the Houston Astros last week.

Now that we have determined how both of these teams are currently playing let’s shift our attention to tonight’s contest. Starting pitcher Logan Webb has been a standout performer for the San Francisco Giants this season. With that said, how has the veteran hurler performed from a statistical standpoint in 2025? Let’s review Webb’s relevant game data from the 2025 MLB regular season to answer that question.

Through four starts made this season, San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Logan Webb has compiled a rather impressive 2-0 (win-loss record), a 2.63 ERA (Earned Run Average) and a 1.12 WHIP (Walks and Hits per Inning Pitched). It should also be noted that Webb has amassed 26 strikeouts while allowing seven walks in 17 innings pitched this season.

More recently, in the San Francisco Giants 5-4 win over the New York Yankees five days ago, Giants starting pitcher Logan Webb pitched exceptionally well. Let me be more specific. Webb pitched five quality innings while scattering five hits and allowing four walks in the San Francisco Giants defeat of the Yankees.

In my view, Logan Webb is the most likely player to post the most Draftkings points in tonight’s MLB regular season game. Having stated that, I am backing San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Logan Webb at the captain position for this one game MLB DFS slate.

Flex plays I like to play well in this MLB regular season contest (Draftkings price noted): Tyler Anderson, Starting Pitcher (Los Angeles Angels) $10,400: Tyler Fitzgerald, Second Baseman (San Francisco Giants) $5,400: Casey Schmidt, First Baseman (San Francisco Giants) $3,800.
