Major League Baseball presents Draftkings baseball fans with an interleague matchup featuring the Cleveland Guardians and the San Francisco Giants. Let’s take a look at this MLB game from a DFS perspective.

Before we dive into the Cleveland Guardians vs. San Francisco Giants game let’s review the rules for the Draftkings MLB single game showdown contest.

Draftkings Single Game Showdown Contest Rules

You have $50,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team captain. The captain accumulates 1.5 times the standard fantasy points. Additionally, the captain is 1.5 times the standard cost of the flex position.

The remaining four players in your lineup will receive the standard fantasy points. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your captain position if you hope to win a large field DFS GPP (guaranteed prize pool) showdown contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game showdown contest, I recommend that you check out the Draftkings website for more details.

*I recommend that all readers review the starting lineups for both teams prior to setting your DFS lineup for this one game slate.

Here are my Draftkings picks for today’s Guardians vs. Giants matchup.

Draftkings MLB Showdown Picks

Captain-Logan Webb, Starting Pitcher, San Francisco Giants $12,000

On Thursday afternoon, Major League Baseball presents the final game of a three-game interleague series featuring the Cleveland Guardians and the San Francisco Giants.

How are these two teams playing entering today’s MLB game? The San Francisco Giants arrive at the third game of this three-game series with the Cleveland Guardians playing below average baseball. The Giants have lost five of the team’s last six games played in the 2025 MLB regular season, including an 8-7 loss to the Colorado Rockies last week.

In direct contrast to the San Francisco Giants, the Cleveland Guardians arrive at this afternoon’s interleague game playing good baseball. The Guardians have won two of the team’s last three games played this season, including a 3-2 victory over the Giants two days ago.

Now that we have identified how both of these teams are currently playing let’s shift our focus to this afternoon’s contest. Starting pitcher Logan Webb has been an essential part of the San Francisco Giants starting pitching rotation this season. With that said, how has Webb performed from a statistical perspective in 2025? Let’s review the veteran hurler’s relevant game data from the 2025 MLB regular season to answer that question.

Through 15 starts made in 2025, San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Logan Webb has compiled a 6-5 (win-loss record), a 1.12 WHIP (Walks and Hits per Inning Pitched) and a 2.58 ERA (Earned Run Average) which ranks 11th in MLB. Additionally, Logan Webb has tallied 105 strikeouts (seventh in MLB) while allowing 20 walks in 94.1 innings pitched this season.

Earlier this month, in the San Francisco Giants 3-2 win over the Atlanta Braves, San Francisco starting pitcher Logan Webb pitched exceptionally well. More specifically, Webb pitched six quality innings while scattering six hits and no walks in the Giants win over Atlanta.

In my view, Logan Webb is the most likely player to post the most Draftkings points in tonight’s MLB regular season game. Having stated that, I am backing San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Logan Webb at the captain position for this one game MLB DFS slate.

Flex plays I like to play well in this MLB regular season contest (Draftkings price noted): Gavin Williams, Starting Pitcher (Cleveland Guardians) $10,400: Rafael Devers, Third Baseman (San Francisco Giants) $9,400: Heliot Ramos, Outfielder (San Francisco Giants) $8,600.
