Draftkings CFL Showdown Picks: Hamilton vs. BC 7/27/25
Hamilton Tiger-Cats vs. BC Lions
July 27, 2025 7:00 pm EDT
The CFL presents Draftkings football fans with a regular season matchup between the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the BC Lions. Let’s take a look at this CFL game from a DFS perspective.
Prior to discussing my DFS picks for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats vs. BC Lions game let’s review an important note regarding the rules and scoring for the single game showdown contest.
For those readers who are not aware, the rules and scoring for DraftKings single game showdown contests are vastly different than the traditional classic contests offered by the platform.
If you need to review the specific rules for the single game showdown contests feel free to check out the Draftkings website.
I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact DFS lineup.
Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a DraftKings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest! Keep that in mind as you construct your lineups for this DFS slate.
*I recommend that all readers review the starting lineups for both teams prior to setting your DFS lineup for this one game CFL slate. Remember, once lineups lock on the Draftkings platform you cannot swap players.
Here are my Draftkings picks for this week’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats vs. BC Lions matchup.
Draftkings CFL Showdown Picks
Kenny Lawler, Wide Receiver, Hamilton Tiger-Cats $13,000
How important has wide receiver Kenny Lawler been to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats offense this season? Let’s review Lawler’s player data from this season to better shed light on my previous statement.
In the six games that Kenny Lawler has played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the 2025 CFL regular season, Hamilton starting quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell has targeted Kenny Lawler a massive 54 times. In those 54 targets just mentioned, Lawler has amassed 33 receptions, 644 receiving yards and eight receiving touchdowns.
Three weeks ago, in the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 51-38 victory over the Toronto Argonauts, Hamilton wide receiver Kenny Lawler certainly played at a high level. Let me be more specific. In the Tiger-Cats win over the Argonauts, Lawler compiled six receptions, 207 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns.
What did we learn from the data just presented? Clearly, Kenny Lawler is playing at a high level this season. Having stated that, I fully expect that trend to continue in this week’s matchup with the BC Lions.
As I noted in the rules section above, selecting the correct players at the flex positions for a Draftkings CFL showdown lineup is absolutely vital if you hope to win a large field GPP (guaranteed prize pool) DFS contest. Keep that in mind as you construct your lineups.
In my opinion, Kenny Lawler is the most likely player to post the most DFS points in this CFL regular season game. For that specific reason, I am backing Hamilton Tiger-Cats wide receiver Kenny Lawler as my lead flex play for this this Draftkings CFL slate.
Bo Levi Mitchell, Quarterback, Hamilton Tiger-Cats $11,500
Hamilton Tiger-Cats quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell has been playing outstanding football this season. With that said, how has the veteran signal caller performed from a statistical perspective in 2025? Let’s examine Mitchell’s relevant player data from this season to answer that question.
In the five games that quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell has played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats this season, Mitchell has compiled a rather impressive 1,812 passing yards (first in CFL) and 12 passing touchdowns (first in CFL).
Additional flex plays I like to perform well this week (Draftkings price noted): Nathan Rourke, Quarterback (BC Lions) $12,000: Jevon Cottoy, Wide Receiver (BC Lions) $7,000: Johnny Augustine, Running Back (Hamilton Tiger-Cats) $6,300.
