The CFL presents a matchup between the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Ottawa Redblacks. Let’s take a look at this CFL game from a Draftkings perspective.

Prior to discussing my Draftkings picks for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats vs. Ottawa Redblacks game, let’s review an important note regarding the rules and scoring for the single game showdown contests.

For those readers who are not aware, the rules and scoring for DraftKings single game showdown contests are vastly different than the traditional classic contests offered by the platform.

If you need to review the specific rules for the single game showdown contests feel free to check out the Draftkings website.

*I recommend that all readers review the starting lineups for both teams prior to setting your DFS lineup for this one game CFL slate. Remember, once lineups lock on the Draftkings platform you cannot swap players.

Here are my Draftkings picks for this week’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats vs. Ottawa Redblacks matchup.

Draftkings CFL Player Selections

Bo Levi Mitchell, Quarterback, Hamilton Tiger-Cats $11,200

Hamilton Tiger-Cats quarterback Bo Levi Mitchel has certainly been playing quality football entering this week’s game with the Ottawa Redblacks. Having stated that, how did Mitchell perform from a statistical perspective? Let’s review Mitchell’s relevant key player game data from the 2024 CFL regular season to answer that question.

In the three games that quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell has played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats this season, Mitchell has accumulated an impressive 975 passing yards and 7 passing touchdowns.

More recently, in the Hamilton Tiger-Cats loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders last week, Mitchell played rather well. Let me be more specific. Bo Levi Mitchell accumulated a robust 275 passing yards and two passing touchdowns in the Tiger-Cats loss to the Roughriders.

Additionally, I like Bo Levi Mitchell’s matchup in this game. Hamilton Tiger-Cats quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell draws an Ottawa Redblacks defense that has had issues defending the quarterback position in the 2024 CFL regular season. Upon the completion of three games played this season, the Ottawa Redblacks are ranked a dreadful ninth in total passing yards allowed (331.5) a game to the quarterback position. Let us not forget that the CFL has nine teams in the entire league. That means that the Ottawa Redblacks are ranked dead last in the CFL in opponent passing yards allowed a game. Clearly, the Ottawa franchise is not currently a good defensive football team.

For the reasons just outlined, I am backing talented Hamilton Tiger-Cats quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell as my captain for this one game DFS CFL Draftkings showdown slate.

Flex Plays

Kiondre Smith, Wide Receiver, Hamilton Tiger-Cats $5,600

How important has Hamilton Tiger-Cats wide receiver Kiondre been to the Hamilton offense this season?

In the three games that Hamilton wide receiver Kiondre Smith has played for the Tiger-Cats this season, Smith has accumulated a respectable 11 receptions, 146 receiving yards, and 1 touchdown.

Shemar Bridges, Wide Receiver, Hamilton Tiger-Cats $7,200

It’s fair to say that Hamilton wide receiver Shemar Bridges has been targeted by Tiger-Cats quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell early and often in the 2024 CFL regular season. In three games played for the Tiger-Cats this season, Hamilton quarterback Bo Levi Micthell has targeted Shemar Bridges 28 times. In those 28 targets, Bridges accumulated 22 receptions, 270 receiving yards, and 2 receiving touchdowns.

I fully expect Hamilton wide receiver Shemar Bridges to continue his outstanding play on the football field this week in Ottawa.

Additional flex plays I like to perform well this week (Draftkings price noted): Dru Brown, Quarterback (Ottawa Redblacks) $10,700: Justin Hardy, Wide Receiver (Ottawa Redblacks) $11,200: Dominique Rhymes., Wide Receiver (Ottawa Redblacks) $8,800.
