September 29, 2024 3:00 pm EDT

The WNBA presents a second-round playoff matchup between the Las Vegas Aces and New York Liberty. Let’s take a look at this game from a FanDuel perspective.

Before we dive into the Las Vegas Aces vs. New York Liberty game let’s review the rules for the FanDuel single game contest.

FanDuel Single Game Contest Rules

Here are the FanDuel single game contest rules. You have $60,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team MVP. The MVP accumulates 2x times the standard FanDuel fantasy points value.

The remaining four players in your lineup will be one star and three flex plays. The star player will receive 1.5x the standard fantasy points value. The final three flex positions will receive the standard FanDuel points value. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your MVP position if you hope to win a large field GPP (guaranteed prize pool) FanDuel single game contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game contest, I highly recommend that you check out the FanDuel website for more details.

Here are my FanDuel picks for tomorrow night’s Las Vegas Aces vs. New York Liberty matchup.

FanDuel WNBA DFS Player Selections

MVP-A’ja Wilson, Forward, Las Vegas Aces $11,500

Las Vegas forward A’ja Wilson arrives at tomorrow night’s WNBA playoff game with the New York Liberty playing exceptional basketball from a statistical perspective. Let’s take a look at Wilson’s game data from the regular season to better shed light on my previous statement.

In the 38 games that Las Vegas forward A’ja Wilson played for the Las Vegas Aces in the 2024 WNBA regular season, Wilson averaged a whopping 26.6 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.8 steals, and 2.7 blocks a game.

Now that we identified how A’ja Wilson played in the regular season, let’s shift our focus to the 2024 WNBA playoffs. In the Las Vegas Aces 91-82 series clinching victory over the Seattle Storm four days ago, Wilson certainly played at a high level. More specifically, A’ja Wilson compiled a massive 24 points, 13 rebounds, two assists, and two blocks in the Aces win over the Storm.

Looking closer at the data just presented, in the Aces playoff win over the Storm earlier this week, A’ja Wilson tallied 47.6 FanDuel points.

It should also be noted that A’ja Wilson’s outstanding play on the basketball court in 2024 earned Wilson her third Most Valuable Player award. Clearly, the Las Vegas Aces forward is playing outstanding basketball entering tomorrow night’s WNBA playoff game.

Star-Breanna Stewart, Forward, New York Liberty $9,000

New York forward Breanna Stewart was the driving force behind the New York Liberty’s offensive success this season. Stewart’s leadership helped the Liberty lock up the number one seed in the 2024 WNBA playoffs.

In the 38 games that New York forward Breanna Stewart played for the New York Liberty in the 2024 WNBA regular season, Stewart averaged a robust 20.4 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.3 blocks a game.

More recently, in the New York Liberty’s 83-69 playoff victory over the Atlanta Dream earlier this week, New York forward Breanna Stewart played rather well. Stewart accumulated 20 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, and two blocks in the Liberty’s playoff win over the Dream.

I fully expect Breanna Stewart to continue her quality play in tomorrow’s WNBA playoff game in New York.

Flex Plays I like to play well (FanDuel price noted): Jonquel Jones, Forward (New York Liberty) $8,000: Sabrina Ionescu, Guard (New York Liberty) $8,500: Jackie Young, Guard (Las Vegas Aces) $6,500.
