FanDuel MLB DFS Picks: Braves vs. Marlins 8/25/25

Atlanta Braves vs. Miami Marlins
August 25, 2025 6:40 pm EDT

Major League Baseball presents FanDuel baseball fans with a National League matchup featuring the Atlanta Braves and the Miami Marlins. Let’s take a look at this MLB game from a DFS perspective.

Before we dive into the Atlanta Braves vs. Miami Marlins game let’s review the rules for the FanDuel single game showdown contest.

FanDuel Single Game Contest Rules

Here are the FanDuel single game contest rules. You have $60,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team MVP. The MVP accumulates 1.5x times the standard FanDuel fantasy points value. Additionally, the MVP is 1.5 times the standard cost of the flex position.

The remaining five players in your lineup will be flex plays. The five flex positions will receive the standard FanDuel points value. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your MVP position if you hope to win a large field GPP (guaranteed prize pool) FanDuel single game contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game contest, I highly recommend that you check out the FanDuel website for more details.

*It should be noted that FanDuel does not utilize the pitcher position in single game MLB contests. Having stated that, only batters are available for single game MLB lineups on the FanDuel platform.

Here are my FanDuel picks for this evening’s Braves vs. Marlins matchup.

FanDuel MLB DFS Picks

MVP-Jurickson Profar, Outfielder, Atlanta Braves $12,200

On Monday night, Major League Baseball presents the opening game of a three-game National League series featuring the Atlanta Braves and the Miami Marlins.

How are these two teams playing entering today’s MLB game? The Atlanta Braves arrive at the first game of this three-game series with the Miami Marlins playing quality baseball. The Braves have won three of the team’s last five games played in the 2025 MLB regular season, including a 1-0 shutout win over the Chicago White Sox last week.

In direct contrast to the Atlanta Braves, the Miami Marlins are currently playing below average baseball entering this evening’s National League game. Let me be more specific. The Marlins have lost four of the team’s last six games played in the 2025 MLB regular season, including a 5-2 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays three days ago.

Now that we have ascertained how both of these teams are currently playing let’s shift our focus to today’s contest. Outfielder Jurickson Profar has certainly been a solid contributor for the Atlanta Braves this season. Having stated that, how has Profar performed from a statistical standpoint? Let’s examine Profar’s relevant game data from the 2025 MLB regular to better shed light on the veteran outfielder’s overall contributions to his team.

In the 50 games that Atlanta Braves outfielder Jurickson Profar has played in the 2025 MLB regular season, Profar has compiled a .260 batting average, ten home runs, 29 walks, 34 RBIs (runs batted in), seven stolen bases and 36 runs scored.

More recently, in the Braves victory over the White Sox six days ago, Profar amassed two runs, one hit (one home run), two RBIs and one walk.

What did we learn from the data just presented? Clearly, Jurickson Profar can post a high number of DFS points on any given night. With that said, I fully expect that trend to continue in this evening’s matchup with the Miami Marlins.

In my view, Jurickson Profar is the most likely player to amass the most FanDuel points in this MLB game. For that specific reason, I am backing Atlanta Braves outfielder Jurickson Profar at the MVP position for this one game MLB DFS slate.

Flex plays I like to play well in this evening’s MLB regular season game (FanDuel price noted): Ronald Acuna Jr., Outfielder (Atlanta Braves) $13,000: Jakob Marsee, Outfielder (Miami Marlins) $10,600.
