FanDuel MLB DFS Picks: Braves vs. Rangers 7/27/25

Atlanta Braves vs. Texas Rangers
July 27, 2025 2:35 pm EDT

Later today, Major League Baseball presents FanDuel baseball fans with an interleague matchup featuring the Atlanta Braves and the Texas Rangers. Let’s take a look at this MLB game from a DFS perspective.

Before we dive into the Atlanta Braves vs. Texas Rangers game let’s review the rules for the FanDuel single game showdown contest.

FanDuel Single Game Contest Rules

Here are the FanDuel single game contest rules. You have $60,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team MVP. The MVP accumulates 1.5x times the standard FanDuel fantasy points value. Additionally, the MVP is 1.5 times the standard cost of the flex position.

The remaining five players in your lineup will be flex plays. The five flex positions will receive the standard FanDuel points value. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your MVP position if you hope to win a large field GPP (guaranteed prize pool) FanDuel single game contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game contest, I highly recommend that you check out the FanDuel website for more details.

*It should be noted that FanDuel does not utilize the pitcher position in single game MLB contests. Having stated that, only batters are available for single game MLB lineups on the FanDuel platform.

Here are my FanDuel picks for this today’s Braves vs. Rangers matchup.

FanDuel MLB Player Selections

MVP-Corey Seager, Shortstop, Texas Rangers $10,000

On Saturday afternoon, Major League Baseball presents the final game of a three-game interleague series featuring the Atlanta Braves and the Texas Rangers.

How are these two teams playing entering today’s MLB game? The Atlanta Braves arrive at the third game of this three-game series with the Texas Rangers playing below average baseball. The Braves have lost six of the team’s last seven games played in the 2025 MLB regular season, including a 9-3 loss over the San Francisco Giants four days ago.

In direct contrast to the Atlanta Braves, the Texas Rangers are playing good baseball entering this evening’s interleague game. More specifically, the Rangers have won six of the team’s last seven games played in the 2025 MLB regular season, including a 7-2 win over the Athletics earlier this week.

Now that we have determined how both of these teams are currently playing let’s shift our attention to today’s contest. Shortstop Corey Seager has certainly been an important part of the Texas Rangers starting lineup this season. With that said, how has the veteran shortstop performed from a statistical perspective? Let’s examine Seager’s relevant game data from the 2025 MLB regular season to answer that question.

Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager arrives at this afternoon’s game with a .273 batting average, 15 home runs, 42 RBIs (runs batted in) and 42 runs scored in 73 games played this season.

Five days ago, in the Texas Rangers 6-2 victory over the Athletics, Texas shortstop Corey Seager played rather well. In the Rangers win over the Athletics, Seager compiled two hits (one home run, one double), three RBIs and one run scored. It should also be mentioned that in the Rangers defeat of the Athletics, Seager tallied a massive 31.7 FanDuel points.

In my opinion, Corey Seager is the most likely player to post the most FanDuel points in tonight’s MLB game. With that said, I am rolling with Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager at the MVP position for this one game MLB DFS slate.

Flex plays I like in this game (FanDuel price noted): Matt Olsen, First Baseman (Atlanta Braves) $12,000: Marcus Semien, Second Baseman (Texas Rangers) $10,400.
