New York Mets vs. San Francisco Giants
July 25, 2025 10:15 pm EDT
Major League Baseball presents FanDuel baseball fans with a National League matchup featuring the New York Mets and the San Francisco Giants. Let’s take a look at this MLB game from a DFS perspective.
Before we dive into the New York Mets vs. San Francisco Giants game let’s review the rules for the FanDuel single game showdown contest.
FanDuel Single Game Contest Rules
Here are the FanDuel single game contest rules. You have $60,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team MVP. The MVP accumulates 1.5x times the standard FanDuel fantasy points value. Additionally, the MVP is 1.5 times the standard cost of the flex position.
The remaining five players in your lineup will be flex plays. The five flex positions will receive the standard FanDuel points value. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your MVP position if you hope to win a large field GPP (guaranteed prize pool) FanDuel single game contest.
If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game contest, I highly recommend that you check out the FanDuel website for more details.
*It should be noted that FanDuel does not utilize the pitcher position in single game MLB contests. Having stated that, only batters are available for single game MLB lineups on the FanDuel platform.
Here are my FanDuel picks for tonight’s Mets vs. Giants matchup.
FanDuel MLB DFS Picks
MVP-Heliot Ramos, Outfielder, San Francisco Giants $8,600
On Friday night, Major League Baseball presents the opening game of a three-game National League series featuring the New York Mets and the San Francisco Giants.
How are these two teams playing entering today’s game? The San Francisco Giants arrive at the first game of this three-game series with the Athletics playing subpar baseball. The Giants have lost six of the team’s last eight games played in the 2025 MLB regular season, including an 8-6 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays last week.
Conversely, the New York Mets are playing good baseball entering the opening game of this National League series. The Mets have won four of the team’s last five games played in the 2025 MLB regular season, including a 7-5 loss to the Los Angeles Angels four days ago.
Now that we have determined how both of these Major League Baseball teams are currently playing let’s turn our attention to this this evening’s contest. Outfielder Heliot Ramos has been a solid performer for the San Francisco Giants this season. Let’s examine the veteran outfielder’s recent game data to better shed light on my previous statement.
In the 101 games that outfielder Heliot Ramos has played for the San Francisco Giants in the 2025 MLB regular season, Ramos has compiled a rather impressive .267 batting average, 14 home runs, 34 walks, 50 RBIs (runs batted in), 53 runs scored, a .340 OBP (On-Base Percentage) and a .769 OPS (On-Base Plus Slugging).
More recently, in the San Francisco Giants 9-3 win over the Atlanta Braves two days ago, Heliot Ramos played exceptionally well. More specifically, in the Giants victory over the Braves, Ramos tallied two hits (one double) and one run scored. It should also be noted that in San Francisco’s defeat of Atlanta, Ramos amassed 13.2 FanDuel points.
In my opinion, Heliot Ramos’s low FanDuel price of only $8,600 presents the best fantasy value on this slate. For that specific reason, I am backing San Francisco Giants outfielder Heliot Ramos at the MVP position for this one game MLB DFS slate.
Flex plays I like in this game (FanDuel price noted): Willy Adames, Shortstop (San Francisco Giants) $9,400: Rafael Devers, Third Baseman (San Francisco Giants) $12,800: Pete Alonso, First Baseman (New York Mets) $13,400.
