Our first pick tonight is going to be Triston McKenzie of the Cleveland Indians to go Over 5.5 K’s. McKenzie has a respectable 8.7 K/9 ratio on the season which includes striking out at least 7 batters over 3 of his last 5 games. Baltimore is below-average in MLB in terms of team strikeout rate and as I think McKenzie is on point tonight, I think he has a solid outing and gets us enough K’s to cover.

Gerrit Cole comes into this game with an incredible 11.4 K/9 ratio and has the best matchup of the night in terms of strikeouts as he faces off against a Los Angeles Angels team that ranks dead last in MLB in team strikeout rate at 9.7 K’s per game. Los Angeles has struggled against RHP this season and I think Cole reaches double digit strikeouts tonight.

Julio Rodriguez has been incredible this season and I think he continues his push for Rookie of the Year with a solid performance against the LHP Tyler Alexander of the Detroit Tigers. Rodriguez has struggle with strikeouts at times this season, but that should be much of a worry against Tyler Alexander who has struggled punching out RHB’s this season (20 strikeouts vs. 192 RHB batters). Rodriguez has a .804 OPS vs. LHP on the season and as he has plenty of speed to get us a SB at some point during the game, I think the rookie has a big night tonight.

Rounding out our team, we’re going to bank on Eloy Jimenez to struggle tonight. The matchup on paper looks decent as he is going up against the LHP Kris Bubic, however, Jimenez has yet to figure out Bubic in his career, going 0-17 w/ no BB against him in his career.

Good Luck!
