This week, the LPGA Tour travels to Ottawa, Canada for the 2022 CP Women’s Open.

Before I discuss my favorite tournament matchup bet for the 2022 CP Women’s Open let’s take a look at the top five players in scoring average on the LPGA Tour that are in this week’s field.

Top Five Golfers in Scoring Average

  1. Minjee Lee 69.17
  2. Brooke Henderson 65.54
  3. Lydia Ko 69.67
  4. Atthaya Thitikul 69.78
  5. Hye-Jin Choi 69.91

Now that we have determined who the top five golfers with regard to scoring average are on the LPGA Tour (in this week’s field) let’s shift our attention to my favorite tournament matchup bet for this week’s 2022 CP Women’s Open.

Brooke Henderson -115 over Lexi Thompson

The talented Canadian arrives at this week’s 2022 CP Women’s Open in outstanding form. Since the beginning of June, Brooke Henderson has played six tournaments on the LPGA Tour. In those six events just noted, Henderson has accumulated an impressive six consecutive top 16 finishes, including two wins (2022 ShopRite LPGA Classic: 2022 Evian Championship).

Brooke Henderson also checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. Henderson is currently ranked 19th in driving distance (268.79 yards), fourth in GIR (greens in regulation-76.04%), 14th in total birdies made (207), and second in scoring average (68.54) on the LPGA Tour.

It should also be noted that Brooke Henderson won the 2018 CP Women’s Open.

In summary, I am backing Brooke Henderson to defeat Lexi Thompson in this tournament matchup.
