The Oakland Athletics and Minnesota Twins will begin a three-game series on Monday and hope to right the ship after inconsistent starts.
The Athletics are coming off a 2-1 series win over the Seattle Mariners, but are still struggling to get consistent offensive production. The A’s have scored three or less runs in three of their first six games and only three batters have five or more hits so far. One of the A’s bright spots has been pitcher Scott Kazmir, who allowed just three hits and zero runs in 7.1 innings in his first start. Kazmir looked a lot like he did in his younger days and could be in for a bounce back season. Kazmir is 5-4 with an ERA of 3.00 in 11 career starts against the Twins.

The Minnesota Twins offensive production has been off the charts lately, as they’ve scored six or more runs in four of their last five games. Chris Colabello leads the Twins with 11 RBI. The Twins pitching has been shaky, but Kevin Correia was decent in his last start, allowing five hits and three runs in six innings. Correia was 5-5 with an ERA of 3.35 in 16 home starts last season. Correia has started four games against the Athletics and is 1-1 with a 3.20 ERA in his career.
The Athletics are 1-5 in their last 6 games vs. a right-handed starter and 9-4 in their last 13 road games. The Twins are 1-6 in Correias last 7 starts vs. a team with a losing record and 2-6 in their last 8 vs. a team with a losing record. The Athletics are 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Minnesota and 6-0 in the last 6 meetings overall.
I'm not sure how you don't take the Twins and the plus money. Minnesota has been tearing the cover off the ball over the last few games and the A's have struggled offensively. With it being Minnesota's first home game of the season, it's worth taking a shot on Minensota.
