The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants will play a quick turnaround game on Wednesday after the Giants won game one, 3-2 in 12 innings.
With the loss, the Dodgers watched their three-game winning streak come to an end. Still, the Dodgers are a team that’s starting to play to their potential and is getting the job done with the bat. There are four Dodgers with at least 15 hits already, and Juan Uribe is batting .379. Pitching wise, Paul Maholm hopes for a better start, as he enters Wednesday’s matchup with a 0-1 record and a 8.10 ERA. Maholm has allowed six runs and nine hits in 6.2 innings, and he’s 2-4 with a 4.48 ERA in 11 career starts against the Giants.

The Giants have now won three of their last four games with their last two wins coming in extra innings. The Giants are just a team that’s continuing to find ways to win whether it’s with the bat or with a solid pitching rotation. Brandon Belt is looking like an MVP candidate with five homeruns and 10 RBI already this season. Taking the mound for the Giants will be Ryan Vogelsong, who is 0-0 with a 8.10 ERA on the season. Vogelsong has allowed four runs apiece in his first two starts, but does have nine strikeouts in nine innings. In 11 career starts against the Dodgers, Vogelsong is 4-3 with a 4.15 ERA.
The Dodgers are 35-16 in their last 51 road games vs. a right-handed starter and 4-9 in their last 13 games as an underdog. The Giants are 1-4 in their last 5 home games vs. a left-handed starter and 15-7 in Vogelsong's last 22 starts as a home favorite. The Giants are 6-2 in Vogelsong's last 8 starts vs. Dodgers.
I'm not confident in either pitcher in this matchup, but I'm a lot more confident in the Dodgers lineup than I am of the Giants. Considering the Dodgers let one get away in game 1, I expect them to come out a little more focused and get the job done this time around.
With nearly even money, you can't pass up on taking the Dodger Blue.
