The Samsung Lions look to keep the ball rolling after winning six of their last eight games. The Samsung Lions have allowed five or less runs in 10 of their last 14 games. In their latest effort, Kim Sang-su and Kim Dong-yeop combined for three hits and two RBI while Choi Chae-heung allowed zero runs and four hits in six innings of work. The Samsung Lions have won 13 of their last 20 games overall. David Buchanan gets the ball tonight for the Samsung Lions.
The SK Wyverns need a win after losing 11 of their last 13 games. The SK Wyverns pitching staff has allowed four or less runs in each of their last five games. In their last effort, Choi Joon-woo and Lee Jae-won combined for two hits and one RBI while Park Jong-hoon allowed two runs and four hits in 4.2 innings of work. The SK Wyverns have lost 15 of their last 18 games overall. Moon Seung-won gets the ball tonight for the SK Wyverns.
The SK Wyverns have won five of the last eight meetings against the Samsung Lions and are 2-2 against them this year. Eight of the last 10 meetings between the Wyverns and Lions have produced single-digit run totals.
The Samsung Lions are back in one of those stretches where the wins are coming easily and the pitching staff is downright dealing. Buchanan hasn’t been the best pitcher this year with a 4.53 ERA, but the Samsung Lions have still won five of his last eight starts. The SK Wyverns are a team that’s lost 11 of their last 13 games and have been a side we’ve blindly faded for most of that stretch. There’s just no getting behind the SK Wyverns in their current form with the losses piling up and an offense that can’t score runs. Seung-won has been solid this season and gives his team chances to win by going deep in games, but the SK Wyverns just can’t get out of their own way these days.
Give me the Samsung Lions and the RL for added value.
