2020-08-31 19:40:00 EDT

The Pittsburgh Pirates and the Milwaukee Brewers meet in an NL Central division matchup in MLB action from Miller Park on Tuesday night.

The Pittsburgh Pirates will look to build off of a 5-1 win over the Brewers on Sunday. Josh Bell had a home run and two RBIs while Gregory Polanco added a solo home run. Kevin Newman went 2 for 4 with an RBI and Adam Frazier added an RBI as well to finish off the scoring for the Pirates in the win. John Ryan Murphy and Erik Gonzalez each had a base hit to cap off the Pirates’ offense as a team in the win. Nick Tropeano picked up the win in relief to improve to 1-0 on the year. Trevor Williams will start here and is 1-5 with a 5.34 ERA and 26 strikeouts this season. In his career, Williams is 3-3 with a 2.74 ERA and 44 strikeouts against Milwaukee.

The Milwaukee Brewers will look to bounce back after Sunday’s loss. Keston Hiura accounted for the lone Milwaukee RBI in the loss while Jedd Gyorko went 2 for 3 at the dish. Luis Urias, Mark Mathias and Ben Gamel each had a base hit as well as the Brew Crew had just six hits as a team in the losing effort. Brandon Woodruff took the loss, falling to 2-3 on the year after allowing four runs on four hits while striking out seven over five innings of work. Adrian Houser will start here and is 1-3 with a 4.36 ERA and 23 strikeouts this season. in his career, Houser is 1-2 with a 6.00 ERA and 17 strikeouts against Pittsburgh.

Trends will be updated once they’ve been released.

It’s hard to take a side when you don’t know which starter you’re going to get on either side. I mean just when I’m about to think that Williams is better than what his record would indicate, he allows eight runs in six innings including 3 home runs against the White Sox. Houser on the other hand, has allowed four runs in three of his last four starts and the Pirates have shown in the last series between these two that they can get to Houser if he’s not on. Give me the over here.
