The KIA Tigers and Samsung Lions meet Wednesday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action at the Gwangju Kia Champions Field.

The KIA Tigers need a victory after losing 15 of their last 30 games. The KIA Tigers pitching staff has allowed four or less runs in 31 of their last 59 games. In their last effort, Park Chan-ho and Na Ji-wan combined for four hits and five RBI while Aaron Brooks allowed zero runs and three hits in eight innings of work. The KIA Tigers have won 35 of their last 64 games overall. Drew Gagnon gets the ball tonight for the KIA Tigers.

The Samsung Lions need a victory here after losing 22 of their last 31 games. The Samsung Lions have allowed five or more runs in 16 of their last 31 games. In their latest effort, Koo Ja-wook and Kim Dong-yeop combined for two hits while Choi Chae-heung allowed two runs and seven hits in 4.2 innings of work. The Samsung Lions have lost 27 of their last 40 games overall. Kim Dae-woo gets the ball tonight for the Samsung Lions.

The KIA Tigers have won seven of the last 10 meetings against the Samsung Lions. Four of the last seven meetings between the Lions and Tigers have produced double-digit run totals.

Drew Gagnon has a 4.55 ERA and 1.49 WHIP this season through 99 innings, and he's allowed three or less earned runs in seven of his last 10 starts. Kim Dae-woo has a 3.53 ERA and 1.33 WHIP this season through 66.1 innings, and he's allowed three runs and six hits in his last 5.1 innings. The KIA Tigers have a pitcher who goes further in games in this matchup, and they have to like themselves a bunch in this series given how they've beaten up on the Samsung Lions all season long. The Samsung Lions just don't provide much betting value these days and it's always tough to back a team in a bullpen game when you have to rely on so many arms to get the job done.

I'll take the KIA Tigers in this spot and the RL for max betting value.

Randy’s Pick KIA Tigers -1.5
