Tampa Bay Rays vs. Baltimore Orioles Game 2 – 9/17/20 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

2020-09-17 19:35:00 EDT

The Tampa Bay Rays and Baltimore Orioles meet Thursday in game two of an MLB doubleheader at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

The Tampa Bay Rays need a win after losing six of their last 10 games. The Rays have scored 11 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in six of their last 12 games. The Rays have won 11 straight games when scoring four or more runs. Brandon Lowe leads the Rays with 43 hits and 31 RBI while Willy Adames and Yandy Diaz have combined for 75 hits and 26 RBI. The Tampa Bay Rays didn’t list a starting pitcher at the time this article was published.

The Baltimore Orioles need a win after losing six of their last eight games. The Orioles have scored 20 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in five of their last 10 games. The Orioles have won six of their last seven games when scoring four or more runs. Hanser Alberto leads the Orioles with 53 hits and 16 RBI while Jose Iglesias and Renato Nunez have combined for 92 hits and 48 RBI. The Baltimore Orioles didn’t list a starting pitcher at the time this article was published.

Will update with trends once they’re released.

It’s tough to predict the second game of a doubleheader without knowing the result of the first game, who played, who didn’t, and it’s even tougher in this spot with neither club announcing a starting pitcher. What we do know is the Rays are the better team by a clear margin and these recent struggles over the last week won’t last much longer. The Baltimore Orioles are back to stinking up the joint and their pitching staff is getting rocked more times than not. The Orioles are looking like the same struggling team they were last year and it’s hard to find betting value with them in this form. I want little to do with the Orioles right now.

I’ll side with the Rays here and take the RL to shave down whatever the ML price is.
