The Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees meet in an AL East division matchup in MLB action from Yankee Stadium on Sunday Night Baseball.

The Boston Red Sox will look to pick up another win over their arch rival after a 7-3 win over the Bronx Bombers on Saturday. Bobby Dalbec belted a two-run home run while Rafael Devers added a pair of RBIs as well. Marwin Gonzalez, Enrique Hernandez and Christian Vazquez all had a double and an RBI to finish off the scoring for the Red Sox in the win while Alex Verdugo went 2 for 4 with a double of his own. Hunter Renfroe also went 2 for 4 at the dish and Xander Bogaerts chipped in a double as well while Danny Santana added a base hit as well to finish off the offense for the BoSox in the victory. Eduardo Rodriguez gave up three runs on five hits while striking out seven over 5.1 innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Garrett Whitlock got the win to improve to 1-1 on the year while Matt Barnes closed the deal for his 14th save of the season. Garrett Richards will start here and is 4-4 with a 3.75 ERA and 52 strikeouts this season. In his career, Richards is 0-5 with an 8.42 ERA and 18 strikeouts against New York.

The New York Yankees will look to bounce back and salvage a win after Saturday’s loss to the Red Sox. Gleyber Torres accounted for all three Yankee RBIs including a two-run home run while Gio Urshela went 2 for 4 with a double. Gary Sanchez, Clint Frazier and DJ LeMahieu each had a base hit as the Yankees cranked out just six hits as a team in the losing effort. Jameson Taillon gave up three earned runs on six hits while striking out three over 5.1 innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Chad Green ended up with the loss, falling to 0-4 on the year as a result. Domingo German will start here and is 4-3 with a 3.27 ERA and 52 strikeouts this season. In his career, German is 2-1 with a 5.11 ERA and 35 strikeouts against Boston.

Boston is 14-3 in their last 17 division games and 12-5 in their last 17 games as a road underdog while the under is 5-2 in their last 7 Sunday games. New York is 86-36 in their last 122 games as a home favorite and 94-43 in their last 137 home games while the under is 37-18-1 in their last 56 games as a favorite. Boston is 8-23 in the last 31 meetings between these two teams and 18-35 in the last 53 meetings between these two teams in New York.

Domingo German is still one of the Yankees’ better starting pitchers, but I’m at the point where I’m not laying juice with the Yankees just because they’re the Yankees. Boston’s been playing the better baseball as of late and while I’m not the president of the Garrett Richards fan club, he’s pitched fairly capably for the Red Sox this season and bottom line is we’re getting the team playing better baseball in what should be a coin flip at decent plus money. I’ll side with the value and the Red Sox here.
