The Braves should be favored for obvious reasons, as they’re the best team in baseball with the best offense, and they’re at home. However, the Phillies are on fire at the moment, and it makes them worth strong consideration in the underdog role. Also, Zack Wheeler was great in his wild card spot against the Marlins, and he’s held the Braves to a .217 batting average with 80 strikeouts in 286 at bats. As good as Max Fried has been in 77.2 innings, he hasn’t pitched since September 21. That’s two weeks off, which can throw off the rhythm of a pitcher who is used to pitching at least once a week. Give me the Phillies and the more favorable price.
