The San Francisco Giants and the Atlanta Braves meet Friday in MLB action from Truist Park. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Atlanta Braves vs San Francisco Giants Prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The San Francisco Giants will send Hayden Birdsong to the mound in this one and Birdsong is 0-0 with a 5.79 ERA and 5 strikeouts this season. This will be Birdsong’s first career start against Atlanta. The Atlanta Braves will trot out Reynaldo Lopez for the start here and Lopez is 6-2 with a 1.70 ERA and 81 strikeouts this season. This will be Lopez’s second career start against the Giants.

San Francisco Giants Recap

The San Francisco Giants come into this one looking to build on their series win over the Dodgers thanks to a 10-4 win over Los Angeles in Sunday’s rubber match, giving the Giants back-to-back series wins after winning three of four against the Cubs to start last week.

Giants Trying To Keep Ball Rolling

Thairo Estrada has 68 hits along with a team-high 9 home runs and 39 RBIs while also chipping in 14 doubles. Michael Conforto has 49 hits with 9 home runs, 9 doubles and 29 RBIs while Matt Chapman has 76 hits of his own alongside 21 doubles with 11 homers, 39 RBIs and 7 stolen bases. Chapman also has the dubious distinction of leading the Giants with 84 strikeouts this season.

Why the San Francisco Giants will win

  • The Braves have lost each of their last eight Tuesday games as home favorites against NL West opponents.
  • The Giants have won four of their last five games as road underdogs against National League opponents following a win.
  • The Giants have covered the run line in 15 of their last 16 games as road underdogs against the Braves following a win.
  • The Braves have failed to cover the run line in 13 of their last 14 games as home favorites against the Giants following a loss.

Atlanta Braves Recap

The Atlanta Braves come into this one looking to build on their series win over the Pirates despite falling short in Sunday’s series finale by a final score of 4-2. The series win was much needed for the Braves after their series loss to the Cardinals last week.

Braves Trying To Build Consistency

Marcell Ozuna leads the Braves with 91 hits including 21 home runs and 67 RBIs while Orlando Arcia has 18 doubles and Ozzie Albies has a team-high 23 doubles, logging 76 hits as well this season. Ronald Acuna Jr. has a team-high 16 stolen bases as well this season but is out for the season with a torn ACL. Matt Olson has 19 doubles, 12 home runs and 41 RBIs with a team-high 93 strikeouts and Austin Riley has 14 doubles with a pair of triples.

Why the Atlanta Braves will win

  • The Giants have lost each of their last eight road games against National League opponents that held a winning record.
  • The Braves have won each of their last eight Tuesday home games.
  • The Giants have failed to cover the run line in five of their last six road games following a home win.
  • The Braves have covered the run line in five of their last six night games against National League opponents following a loss.

Atlanta Braves vs San Francisco Giants Prediction

I’m on the Braves here. I just keep waiting for the other shoe to drop with Reynaldo Lopez, but it never does as he continues to pitch well and as much as I like the Giants and value, I’m just not sure what to make of Hayden Birdsong just yet. The Giants are coming off of a solid showing against the Dodgers, but in the end, I think the Braves are still the more trustworthy team in a spot like this so give me Atlanta in this one.
