The Washington Nationals and the Atlanta Braves meet Wednesday in MLB action from Truist Park. Here’s an Atlanta Braves vs Washington Nationals prediction. This will be the final installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the games.

Washington Nationals Betting Preview

The Nationals played the Seattle Mariners in their weekend series. Washington managed wins in the first pair 6-1 and 3-1, but then took a 9-5 loss on Sunday. The Nats bounced back with an 8-4 win in game one versus the Braves. On Tuesday Washington took a shutout loss 2-0. Starting pitcher Jake Irvin posted 6.0 clean frames with two hits, two walks and 10 Ks.

It’ll be MacKenzie Gore in the starter role for the Nationals on Wednesday. This year Gore is 3-4 with a 3.04 ERA in 10 starts. He’s got 62 Ks in 53.1 innings. Gore is 14-18 with a 4.16 ERA in 53 games (50 starts).

Atlanta Braves Betting Preview

Over on the Braves’ side, they played the Pittsburgh Pirates in their last series. Atlanta took losses 11-5 and 4-1 in the first pair of that set, but staved off the sweep with an 8-1 win in the finale. On Tuesday the Braves scored both their runs in the bottom of the seventh. Max Fried was great as starter with 8.0 innings, seven hits, one walk and six strikeouts.

As starter for the Wednesday game the Braves will send out Spencer Schwellenbach. This will be Schwellenbach’s MLB debut. He’s Atlanta’s No. 3 prospect.

Atlanta Braves vs Washington Nationals Prediction

I’ll try the Nationals. Gore should be able to post a good start here if he continues to pitch well. Over his last three starts combined, Gore is 1-1 with five earned runs in 19.1 total innings on 13 hits and six walks. As for Schwellenbach, it’ll be interesting to see what he can offer in his debut.

On Tuesday the Nationals had seven team hits but five of them belonged to Joey Meneses (3-for-3) and CJ Abrams (2-for-4). Otherwise there wasn’t much going on at the plate. The good news is that the pitching was excellent outside of the one bad inning. Washington shock be in it Wednesday if the bats come along for the ride.
