The Texas Rangers and the Baltimore Orioles meet Wednesday in MLB action from Camden Yards. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Baltimore Orioles vs Texas Rangers Prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The Texas Rangers will start Max Scherzer in this one and Scherzer is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA and 4 strikeouts this season. In his last five starts against Baltimore, Scherzer is 2-0 with a 2.88 ERA and 50 strikeouts. Albert Suarez will start for the Orioles here and Suarez is 3-2 with a 2.70 ERA and 43 strikeouts this season. This will be Suarez’s first career start against the Rangers.

Texas Rangers Recap

The Texas Rangers come into this game looking to bounce back after being on the wrong end of an 11-2 beatdown to start the series on Thursday. The loss pushed Texas’ losing streak to 4 and puts them at risk of back-to-back series losses after being swept by the Brewers to start the week.

Rangers Scuffling On The Road

Marcus Semien leads the Rangers with 80 hits along with 16 doubles, 11 home runs and 44 RBIs while Adolis Garcia has 15 home runs and 43 RBIs with 11 doubles as well as 6 stolen bases. Jonah Heim has 7 homers and 33 RBIs and Josh Smith also has a team-high 18 doubles. Corey Seager also has a team-high 14 home runs with 36 RBIs of his own this season.

Why the Texas Rangers will win

  • The underdogs have won 11 of the Rangers’ last 13 games at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
  • The Orioles have lost three of their last four games as favorites against the Rangers following a win.
  • The underdogs have covered the run line in 12 of the Rangers’ last 13 games at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
  • The Orioles have failed to cover the run line in four of their last five games against AL West opponents that held a losing record.

Baltimore Orioles Recap

The Baltimore Orioles come into this one fresh off of their statement win to start the series against the Rangers, building some momentum after salvaging a win from their series to start the week. The O’s would love a win here to at least earn a split of the series after series losses to the Guardians and Astros over the last week.

Orioles Still Smashing Righties

Gunnar Henderson leads the Orioles with 26 home runs, along with 57 RBIs and 4 triples but also has a team-high 83 strikeouts in addition to 13 stolen bases. Adley Rutschman has a team-high 95 hits with 15 home runs and 55 RBIs in addition to 12 doubles while Anthony Santander has 13 doubles with 21 home runs and 53 RBIs and Colton Cowser has 13 doubles and Ryan Mountcastle has a team-high 21 doubles. Cedric Mullins has also contributed a team-high 16 stolen bases as well this season.

Why the Baltimore Orioles will win

  • The Rangers have lost each of their last nine night games against AL East opponents following a road loss.
  • The home team has won each of the Rangers’ last eight games.
  • The home team has covered the run line in each of the Rangers’ last nine games.
  • The Rangers have failed to cover the run line each of their last six road games against teams that held a winning record.

Baltimore Orioles vs Texas Rangers Prediction

I’m on the Orioles here. Baltimore has still been one of the most lethal lineups in baseball against right-handed pitching in recent weeks, and even against Max Scherzer, I don’t expect that to change. Even if Scherzer had a strong outing here, the Rangers have been struggling in a lot of recent road games and I think that the Orioles are the play here as a result. Give me the O’s.
