The Rays took an 8-5 loss in game one of the Saturday doubleheader but came back for a 4-2 win in the nightcap. On Sunday Tampa Bay bagged a 6-2 win on seven team hits. Starter Taj Bradley put up 5.0 innings with two earned on six hits and three walks.
For the starter job on Monday the Rays will send out Shane McClanahan. Over his 12 starts so far McClanahan is 8-1 with a 2.07 ERA and 82 Ks in 69.2 innings. In 65 career starts he’s 30-15 with a 2.76 ERA.
Boston Red Sox
Over on the Boston side, they were out-hit 10-5 in their game two loss Saturday. In the Sunday game three the Red Sox gave up two runs in both the fourth and sixth innings. Tanner Houck put up 5.0 innings with four earned on five hits and four walks in the start.
Brayan Bello will take the mound for the Monday start. In his eight starts this year Bello is 3-3 with a 3.89 ERA and 41 Ks in 39.1 innings. Bello is 5-11 with a 4.38 ERA in 21 career games (19 starts).
The Rays are 5-2 in their last seven Monday games and 41-19 in their last 60 overall. The under is 15-5-2 in Tampa Bay’s last 22 Monday games.

I’ll stick with the Red Sox in this one. Bello is pitching pretty well over his last three starts, with a combined 16.0 innings, four earned, 14 hits and seven walks. That said Bello is just 1-2 in that trio however, so he’ll need some help from the bats in this one. On Saturday Boston couldn’t really get the offense going outside of Alex Verdugo and Masataka Yoshida, who combined for five hits. The Sox will need a better performance from both sides but I think they can get it done in the finale.
