The Chicago White Sox and the Cleveland Indians meet in an AL Central division matchup in MLB action from Progressive Field on Wednesday.

The Chicago White Sox will look to bounce back from a 6-5 loss to Cleveland in Tuesday’s matchup. Billy Hamilton led the way with a double and two RBIs while Zach Collins and Nick Madrigal each had an RBI as well in the win. Tim Anderson, Yoan Moncada and Jake Lamb each had a pair of hits as well to round out the offense for Chicago in the losing effort. Dylan Cease took the loss, falling to 3-2 on the year after allowing all six runs on eight hits with a pair of strikeouts over 3.1 innings of work. Lance Lynn will start here and is 6-1 with a 1.37 ERA and 57 strikeouts this season. In his career, Lynn is 4-2 with a 1.95 ERA and 43 strikeouts against the Indians.

The Cleveland Indians will look to build on their win over the White Sox last time out. Austin Hedges led the way with a home run and two RBIs while Harold Ramirez added a pair of RBIs as well. Jose Ramirez added a pair of doubles and an RBI and Josh Naylor chipped in an RBI as well to round out the scoring for the Tribe in the victory. Cesar Hernandez, Amed Rosario and Bradley Zimmer each had a base hit as well to cap off the Indians’ offense as a team in the winning effort. Shane Bieber got the win to improve to 6-3 on the year after giving up three runs, two earned, on five hits with seven strikeouts over seven innings of work. James Karinchak got his 7th save of the year by closing out the 9th. Eli Morgan will start here and is 0-1 with a 20.25 ERA this season. This will be Morgan’s first career start against the White Sox.

Chicago is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall and 37-18 in their last 55 division games while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 road games. Chicago is 5-11 in the last 16 meetings between these two teams.

Well the good news for Eli Morgan is that it can probably go only up from here after allowing six runs while failing to make it out of the third in his major league debut against Toronto. The problem is that when you’re giving up six runs, it’s hard to match zeroes with a pitcher like Lance Lynn who strikes out batters regularly and has allowed more than two earned runs in only one of his starts this season. This isn’t a bad price for Lynn either even with the White Sox on the road so I’ll lay it and play it with the White Sox here.
