The Cincinnati Reds and the Chicago Cubs meet Sunday in MLB action from Great American Ballpark. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Cincinnati Reds vs Chicago Cubs Prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The Cincinnati Reds will send out Hunter Greene for the start here and Greene is 3-2 with a 3.44 ERA and 76 strikeouts this season. The Chicago Cubs will start Javier Assad here and Assad is 4-1 with a 2.27 ERA and 61 strikeouts this season.

Cincinnati Reds Recap

The Cincinnati Reds will come into this one looking to build on their current four-game win streak after sweeping the Colorado Rockies with a 12-7 win over the Rockies on Wednesday. The sweep gave the Reds back-to-back series wins after a series triumph over the Chicago Cubs last week.

Reds Heating Up At The Dish

Elly De La Cruz leads the Reds with 55 hits, 10 home runs and 26 RBIs with 32 stolen bases along with a .241 batting average as well. Spencer Steer has a team-high 40 RBIs with 14 doubles and 11 stolen bases while Will Benson also has 12 doubles with 8 stolen bases but also has 81 strikeouts while De La Cruz has a team-high 84 strikeouts so far this season. Cubs Starting To Warm Up Themselves

Nico Hoerner leads the Cubs with 53 hits, 13 doubles and a .255 batting average while Christopher Morel has a team-high 11 home runs and 37 RBIs. Michael Busch has 8 homers with 23 RBIs but also has the unfortunate distinction of leading the Cubs with 69 strikeouts as well this season. Cody Bellinger also has 8 homers and 29 RBIs as well this season.

Cincinnati Reds vs Chicago Cubs Prediction

I’m on the under here. I know it’s odd taking the under at hitter-friendly Great American Ballpark, but the thing here is that Hunter Greene’s pitched well for the better part of the season, and despite a recent run at the plate I’m still not at a point where I fully trust the Cubs offensively. On the other side, Cincinnati’s hitting well, but they’re coming from Coors Field without a day off, so the bats may still be a bit quiet with the adjustment from the altitude. All in all I think this is a lower-scoring game than one would expect so give me the under here.
