The San Francisco Giants and the Cincinnati Reds meet Wednesday in MLB action from Great American Ball Park. This will be the third installment in a four-game series. San Francisco Giants 

The Giants broke a 2-2 tie in the top of the 10th inning during Tuesday’s continuation of game one, a 4-2 victory. Wilmer Flores went 3-for-5 with a run and an RBI off a solo homer. Starter Logan Webb did well on 7.0 innings and two earned. In Tuesday’s game the Giants got five more RBI and three runs from Flores in an 11-10 win.

For the starter job on Wednesday, the Giants will go with Ross Stripling. In his 13 games (eight starts) this year Stripling is 0-2 with a 6.11 ERA and 40 Ks in 45.2 innings. Stripling is 38-40 in his career with a 3.93 ERA in 217 games (112 starts). 

Cincinnati Reds 

Over on the Cincinnati side, they were only able to muster four team hits in the continuation of game one. Jonathan India had three of them, along with a solo homer. Brandon Williamson went 6.0 frames in the start with two earned. In game two the Reds got three RBI from Christian Encarnacion-Strand but couldn’t keep the pace. 

Graham Ashcraft will take the mound for the Reds on Wednesday. Over his 17 starts so far Ashcraft is 4-7 with a 5.95 ERA and 63 Ks in 87.2 frames. Ashcraft is 9-13 with a 5.37 career ERA in 36 starts. 

Cincinnati is 50-44 against the money line in all games this season and 31-22 against the money line in night games this season. San Francisco is 52-41 against the money line in all games this season and 31-20 against the money line in night games. Ashcraft is 2-0 against San Francisco in his career. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’ll probably try the Reds here. Ashcraft is doing well on the mound lately. He’s got just three earned runs in his last 18.2 innings combined on 15 hits and seven walks. As for Stripling, he’s given up four earned in his last 10.1 innings. On Tuesday Cincinnati blew an early 4-1 lead and couldn’t catch the Giants despite a nice offensive outing in the loss. The Reds have scored three or more runs in three straight games (all losses), so they’re going to need to get the pitching together. I like Ashcraft to lead the way in a win.
