White Sox Preview

The Chicago White Sox are 1-8 this season and they have lost four games in a row. Chicago is coming off a series loss to Kansas City, where they lost all four games by scores of 5-3, 3-0, 2-1, and 10-1. The White Sox started the season with four straight losses to the Tigers and Braves, but they won the last game in their series with Atlanta. The Chicago pitching staff has a 4.09 ERA, a 1.40 WHIP, and a .251 opponent batting average. The White Sox offense has scored 16 runs with a .196 batting average and a .266 on base percentage. Paul DeJong is batting .167 with two home runs and two RBI’s for the White Sox. The projected starting pitcher for Chicago is Jared Shuster, who is making his first appearance of the season.

Guardians Preview

The Cleveland Guardians are 7-2 this year and they have won four games in a row. Cleveland is coming off of a series win against Minnesota, where they won both games by scores of 3-1 and 4-2. Prior to that series, Cleveland won two out of three against Seattle and three out of four against Oakland. The Cleveland pitching staff has a 2.28 ERA, a 1.14 WHIP, and a .201 opponent batting average. The Guardians offense has scored 53 runs with a .265 batting average and a .329 on base percentage. Jose Ramirez is batting .262 with one home run and seven RBI’s for the Guardians. • The ‘Inning 1 UNDER 0.5 runs’ market has hit in each of the Guardians’ last three home games.
  • The Guardians have trailed after 3 innings in each of their last three home games against American League opponents.

Chicago White Sox Team Facts

  • The White Sox have lost each of their last eight games against AL Central opponents.
  • The White Sox have failed to cover the run line in each of their last nine Monday games against AL Central opponents.

White Sox vs Guardians Prediction

Chicago comes into this series with one of the worst offenses in all of baseball and losing Luis Robert doesn’t help at all. Cleveland has started the season by winning seven of their first nine games and they will be playing their first home game here. The Guardians have been great with their pitching staff, but they hope to see a better start from McKenzie, who allowed four earned runs over 3.1 innings against Seattle in his first start. I don’t think Chicago has the offense to push McKenzie in this game and I like Cleveland to win by at least two runs.
