The Atlanta Braves and the Colorado Rockies meet in MLB action from Coors Field on Saturday.
The Atlanta Braves will look to bounce back from a 4-3 loss at the hands of the Rockies on Friday. Ozzie Albies had a solo home run while Austin Riley and Eddie Rosario each had a double and an RBI to make up the scoring for the Braves in the loss with Riley having a pair of hits in the loss. Adam Duvall added a triple and Freddie Freeman contributed a double while Jorge Soler had a base hit as well to end the offense for the Braves in defeat. Huascar Ynoa took the loss, falling to 4-5 on the year after allowing all four runs on five hits while striking out five over 5.2 innings of work. Ian Anderson will start here and is 6-5 with a 3.36 ERA and 98 strikeouts this season.
The Colorado Rockies will attempt to build on their win over the Rockies from Friday. Charlie Blackmon led the way with a home run and two RBIs while C.J. Cron and Brendan Rodgers each had an RBI as well to finish off Colorado’s scoring as a team in the win. Dom Nunez, Trevor Story and Garrett Hampson all chipped in doubles as well to finish off Colorado’s offense as a team in the victory. Antonio Senzatela got the win to improve to 4-9 on the year after allowing three runs on six hits while striking out three over seven innings of work. Carlos Estevez closed the 9th for his 4th save of the year. German Marquez will start here and is 11-10 with a 4.10 ERA and 156 strikeouts this season.
Atlanta is 6-2 in their last 8 Saturday games and 21-6 in their last 27 games as a favorite while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 games as a road favorite. Colorado is 4-1 in their last 5 Saturday games and 36-15 in their last 51 home games while the under is 13-3 in their last 16 games as an underdog.
Man this is a tough game to call as you have the Braves who have been playing well and the Rockies who have been playing well at home against two of the better starters in their respective rotations. I’m going to side with the under here as Marquez has kept the ball in the park at Coors and while Anderson’s had his ups and downs I think the Braves show up to play defensively here so give me the under.
