In this article we will formulate a Colorado Rockies vs San Diego Padres prediction for this MLB game on Tuesday, April 23rd at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado. Let’s take a look at the prediction for game two in this series.

Rockies Preview

The Colorado Rockies are 5-18 this season and they have lost eight of their last nine games. Colorado dropped the first game in this series and they lost two out of three games against the Mariners over the weekend. Prior to that series, the Rockies were swept by the Phillies and lost two out of three against Toronto. The Colorado pitching staff has a 5.75 ERA, a 1.66 WHIP, and a .294 opponent batting average. The Rockies offense has scored 81 runs with a .238 batting average and a .300 on base percentage. Ryan McMahon is batting .314 with two home runs and 13 RBI’s for the Rockies. The projected starting pitcher for Colorado is Ryan Feltner, who is 1-2 with a 5.06 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP over 21.1 innings pitched this season.

Padres Preview

The San Diego Padres are 13-12 this year and they have lost three of their last five games. San Diego was able to win game one in this series by a score of 3-1 on Monday night. Prior to this series, the Padres lost two out of three against the Blue Jays and won two out of three against the Brewers. The San Diego pitching staff has a 3.79 ERA, a 1.23 WHIP, and a .229 opponent batting average. The Padres offense has scored 121 runs with a .253 batting average and a .331 on base percentage. Fernando Tatis is batting .263 with six home runs and 15 RBI’s for the Padres. Colorado Rockies vs San Diego Padres Prediction

Colorado comes into this game as one of the worst teams in the MLB so far this season and they only have five wins on the season. The Rockies have the worst team ERA in all of baseball and their offense is normally not very good. San Diego is one game above .500 so far this year, but they have scored two runs or fewer in three of their last five games. The Padres are starting Michael King, who has allowed two earned runs or fewer in three of his four starts, but did allow four earned runs and six hits to the Dodgers two starts ago. Colorado is going with Ryan Feltner, who has allowed three earned runs or fewer in three of his four starts, but did allow six earned runs and nine hits to the Phillies last time out. I know Colorado was able to pick up a win on Sunday, but they are horrible this year and I can’t trust their offense to score more than two runs. Take the Padres -1.5 here.
