The St. Louis Cardinals and the Detroit Tigers meet Wednesday in MLB action from Comerica Park. Here’s a Detroit Tigers vs St. Louis Cardinals Prediction. This will be the final installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game.

St. Louis Cardinals Betting Preview

The Cardinals took on the New York Mets over the weekend, winning the first pair 4-2 and 7-4 before a 4-2 loss on Sunday to halt the sweep. In their doubleheader matchup versus the Tigers on Tuesday, the Cardinals eked out a 2-1 win in the opener. In the game two nightcap, St. Louis gave up four runs in the first three innings in an 11-6 loss.

In the starter role for the Wednesday finale, the Cardinals will send out Miles Mikolas. This year Mikolas is 2-3 with a 5.91 ERA in six starts. He’s got 25 Ks in 32.0 innings. Mikolas is 56-56 with a 4.00 ERA in 184 career games (156 starts).

Detroit Tigers Betting Preview

Over on the Tigers’ side, they had a weekend series versus the Kansas City Royals. Detroit was able to win the Saturday and Sunday games for a series victory. In their doubleheader matchup Tuesday the Tigers had just four hits in game one. In the second installment Detroit blew a 4-0 lead but recovered quickly on the way to 14 team hits. Starter Matt Manning posted 4.2 innings with four earned runs on seven hits and two walks.

It’ll be Kenta Maeda in the starting pitcher role for the Tigers on Wednesday. Over five starts so far Maeda is 0-1 with a 5.96 ERA and 17 Ks in 22.2 innings. Maeda is 65-50 with a 3.97 ERA in 195 games (160 starts) total.

Detroit Tigers vs St. Louis Cardinals Prediction

I’ll take a stab on the Tigers. I could go either way on this one, though. Maeda had a rough start on April 18 versus the Rangers with 2.2 innings, five earned, seven hits and two walks. In his last outing Maeda bounced back however, with 5.0 clean innings versus the Rays. As for Mikolas, he gave up 10 earned in 9.1 innings over a pair of losses in early April. Mikolas calmed down in his last start though, notching two earned in 5.2 innings during a win over the Mets.

On Tuesday the Tigers had a pretty limp offensive effort in the opener but found their footing in the nightcap. Detroit had one bad inning defensively in game two but the bats were hot enough to keep the team on top. Wenceel Perez in particular had a great outing with three hits, three runs, two homers and three RBI. There may not be so many offensive fireworks this time but Detroit should still be in good shape. It’ll be a fun finale.
