In this article we will formulate a Guardians vs Marlins prediction for this MLB game on Tuesday, August 12th at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this MLB matchup.

Cleveland Guardians Betting Preview

The Cleveland Guardians are 61-56 this year after they won two out of three against the White Sox by scores of 9-5, 3-1, and 4-6. In their game three loss, Cleveland cut the deficit to 6-4 in the seventh inning, but couldn’t get any closer in the defeat. The Guardians recorded seven hits in the game and they were led by Fry and Manzardo, who both had two RBIs in the loss. Cleveland started Cecconi, who allowed eight hits and five earned runs over 3.0 innings for the loss, while Allard allowed one earned run in relief.

Prior to that series, the Guardians won all three against the Mets and two out of three against the Twins. Cleveland has won five of their last six games and they are currently second in the AL Central standings. The Cleveland pitching staff has a 3.83 ERA with a 1.30 WHIP and a .240 opponent batting average, while the offense has scored 466 runs with a .228 batting average and a .301 on base percentage this season. Jose Ramirez has led Cleveland with 23 home runs and 61 RBIs, while Kyle Manzardo has added 20 home runs and 52 RBIs this year. The projected starting pitcher for Cleveland is Logan Allen, who is 7-9 with a 3.96 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP over 113.2 innings pitched this year.

Miami Marlins Betting Preview

The Miami Marlins are 57-61 this season after they lost four out of five against Atlanta by scores of 6-8, 5-1, 1-7, 6-8, and 1-7. In their game five loss, Miami led 1-0 in the second inning, but was outscored 7-0 the rest of the way for the defeat. The Marlins recorded six hits in the game and they were led by Hicks, who went 2-4 with one RBI in the loss. Miami started Quantrill, who allowed three hits and one earned run over 4.0 innings, while Phillips picked up the loss and Zuber allowed four earned runs in relief.

Prior to that series, the Marlins lost two out of three against the Astros, but did win all three against the Yankees before that. Miami has lost six of their last eight games and they are currently third in the NL East standings. The Miami pitching staff has a 4.52 ERA with a 1.31 WHIP and a .250 opponent batting average, while the offense has scored 505 runs with a .251 batting average and a .315 on base percentage this season. Kyle Stowers has led Miami with 25 home runs and 71 RBIs, while Agustin Ramirez has added 17 home runs and 52 RBIs this year. The projected starting pitcher for Miami is Janson Junk, who is 6-2 with a 3.97 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP over 70.1 innings pitched this season.

Guardians vs Marlins Prediction

Cleveland picked up a bad loss to the White Sox on Sunday, but they are still playing very well right now and have gained a ton of ground on the Tigers. The Guardians are 29-27 at home this year, while the Marlins are 29-30 on the road. Miami has allowed at least seven runs in four of their last five games and they are starting Junk, who has allowed 3, 6, 3, and 4 earned runs in his last four outings. Cleveland is going with Allen, who has allowed two earned runs or fewer in two straight starts. Cleveland is the better team in this matchup and I don’t like what I have seen from Junk, so give me the Guardians here.
