The Houston Astros are 6-11 this year and they have lost four of their last six games. Houston is coming off of a series win against Texas, where they won two out of three games. Prior to that series, the Astros lost all three games against the Royals and split a four game series with Texas. The Houston pitching staff has a 5.32 ERA, a 1.52 WHIP, and a .263 opponent batting average. The Astros offense has scored 80 runs with a .277 batting average and a .348 on base percentage. Kyle Tucker is batting .269 with four home runs and 13 RBI’s for the Astros. The projected starting pitcher for Houston is Spencer Arrighetti, who is 0-1 with a 21.00 ERA and a 3.33 WHIP over 3.0 innings pitched this year.

Braves Preview

The Atlanta Braves are 9-5 this season and they have alternated wins and losses over their last seven games. Atlanta is coming off of a series win against the Marlins, where they won two out of three games. Prior to that series, the Braves lost two out of three to the Mets and swept the Diamondbacks. The Atlanta pitching staff has a 4.90 ERA, a 1.35 WHIP, and a .253 opponent batting average. The Braves offense has scored 91 runs with a .301 batting average and a .361 on base percentage. • The Astros have led after 7 innings in each of their last five games against National League opponents that held a winning record.

Astros vs Braves Prediction

Both of these teams are coming off of a series win over the weekend, but Houston is only 6-11 on the season. The Astros won the last two games in their series against Texas and will look to build on that momentum here. Atlanta is 9-5 through 14 games and they were lucky to complete a nice comeback on Sunday. The Braves are starting Darius Vines, who pitched pretty well last season. Houston is going with Spencer Arrighetti, who allowed seven earned runs and seven hits over 3.0 innings against Kansas City in his first start. I don’t like this pitching matchup at all for either team and we should see plenty of runs. Take the over here.
