The Cleveland Guardians and the Houston Astros meet in MLB action from Minute Maid Park on Wednesday.

The Cleveland Guardians will look to find some consistency, alternating wins and losses in each of their last 4 games after a 6-1 win over Houston last time out Jose Ramirez leads the Guardians with 43 hits, 11 home runs and 43 RBIs along with a .293 batting average while Owen Miller has a .282 batting average with 12 doubles as well this season. Ramirez also has 10 doubles and Steven Kwan has 29 hits with 6 doubles as well as a .264 batting average this season. Ramirez has 3 triples while Andres Gimenez and Amed Rosario each have a pair of triples as well on the year. Cal Quantrill will start here and is 1-2 with a 3.48 ERA and 25 strikeouts this season.

The Houston Astros will try to bounce back from a frustrating loss to the Guardians in Tuesday’s opener. Michael Brantley has a team-high 41 hits with a .283 batting average while Yuli Gurriel has a team-high 14 doubles and Alex Bregman has 34 hits with 11 doubles, 6 home runs and 26 RBIs. Yordan Alvarez has a team-high 12 home runs and 25 RBIs and Kyle Tucker has 8 home runs and a team-high 29 RBIs as well this season. Jeremy Pena also has a .293 batting average with 7 home runs and 22 RBIs of his own this season. Cristian Javier will start here and is 2-2 with a 2.87 ERA and 39 strikeouts this season.

Cleveland is 3-10 in their last 13 games as a road underdog and 5-2 in their last 7 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall. Houston is 20-7 in their last 27 games overall and 13-5 in their last 18 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 7-1 in their last 8 games against the AL Central.

I get the case to be made either way here, but you have two pitchers in Quantrill and Javier that can pitch well but more often than not the run support from their respective offenses just doesn’t come to the rescue and I think that’s what we may have here. A game where the pitching is really good or a game where the offense is so bad that it makes the pitching look good. Either way I think this one ends up under the number.
