The Detroit Tigers and the Houston Astros meet in MLB action from Minute Maid Park on Wednesday night.

The Detroit Tigers will look to carry over their momentum after an 8-2 win over the Astros in their last matchup. Wilson Ramos led the charge, going 3 for 5 with three RBIs while Renato Nunez and Nomar Mazara each had a home run and two RBIs and Akil Baddoo added a solo homer as well, making all eight runs from Detroit be registered by way of home runs. Jeimer Candelario went 2 for 4 with a double and Victor Reyes added a double as well while Jonathan School added a base knock to finish off Detroit’s offence as a team in the win. Matt Boyd got the win to improve to 2-1 after allowing one earned run on six hits with four strikeouts over 6.2 innings of work. Michael Fulmer will start here and is 0-0 with a 2.57 ERA and 10 strikeouts this season. in his career, Fulmer is 0-2 with a 6.17 ERA and 6 strikeouts against Houston.

The Houston Astros will look to bounce back and salvage a win after Tuesday’s debacle against the Tigers. Myles Straw and Chas McCormick each had an RBI to make up Houston’s lone pair of RBIs in the losing effort while Jordan Alvarez and Yuli Gurriel each went 2 for 4 at the dish while Kyle Fucker added a double. Jose Altuve and Alex Bregman each had base hits as well as the Astros mustered up eight hits as a team in the loss. Jake Odorizzi took the loss, falling to 0-1 after allowing five earned runs on seven hits with four strikeouts over 3.1 innings of work. Lance McCullers Jr. will start here and is 1-0 with a 1.80 ERA and 13 strikeouts this season. in his career, McCullers Jr. is 2-1 with a 3.94 ERA and 15 strikeouts against the Tigers.

Detroit is 10-44 in their last 54 games against the AL West and 22-58 in their last 80 road games while the under is 6-1 in their last 7 games as a road underdog. Houston is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall and 61-28 in their last 89 home games while the over is 4-1 in their alt 5 games as a favorite. The under is 4-1-1 in the last 6 meetings between these two teams.

I’ve been on Houston run line in back-to-back games and it’s burned me twice, but I’m not ready to jump on the Tigers just yet. I think the runs will be flowing again here, whether they’re coming off of Fulmer, a Tigers reliever or Lance McCullers. I think we could easily get to double-digits again in this one, so give me the over in this spot.
