The Cleveland Guardians and the Kansas City Royals meet Saturday in MLB action from Kauffman Stadium. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Kansas City Royals vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The Cleveland Guardians will send out Tanner Bibee for the start here and Bibee is 6-2 with a 3.50 ERA and 106 strikeouts this season. In his career, Bibee is 0-0 with a 2.70 ERA and 11 strikeouts against the Royals. Cole Ragans will get the start for the Royals here and is 5-5 with a 3.03 ERA and 120 strikeouts this season. This will be Ragans’ second career start against the Guardians.

Cleveland Guardians Recap

The Cleveland Guardians will try to rebound from a 10-3 loss at the hands of the Royals in Friday’s matchup. The loss for Cleveland on Friday meant that their series unbeaten streak is at risk with the best possible outcome being a four-game split after series wins over the Orioles, Blue Jays and Mariners over the last week and a half.

Guardians Still Leading The Charge In Division Race

Jose Ramirez leads the Guardians with 86 hits as well as 22 home runs and 73 RBIs while Josh Naylor also has 20 home runs and 58 RBIs of his own. Ramirez has a team-high 15 doubles while Tyler Freeman has 12 doubles and Andres Gimenez has 37 RBIs with 14 stolen bases while the aforementioned Ramirez has a team-high 15 stolen bases on the year.

Why the Cleveland Guardians will win

  • The Guardians have won eight of their last nine day games against AL Central opponents that held a winning record.
  • The Royals have lost five of their last seven games as home favorites against the Guardians following a home win.
  • The Guardians have covered the run line in seven of their last eight day games against the Royals following a loss.
  • The Royals have failed to cover the run line in six of their last seven games as home favorites against the Guardians following a home win.

Kansas City Royals Recap

The Kansas City Royals will look to keep the ball rolling after solid showings in their first two games of the series. The Royals needed a strong performance to build some momentum after their series win over the Marlins to start the week to get back in the division race heading to the all-star break.

Royals Trying To Make Up Ground In AL Central

Bobby Witt Jr. leads the Royals with 104 hits including 12 home runs, 53 RBIs and team-highs of 8 triples and 22 doubles with 22 stolen bases. Salvador Perez also has 13 home runs with 49 RBIs and 16 doubles. Nelson Velazquez also has 61 strikeouts while Maikel Garcia has 5 home runs, 40 RBIs and 21 stolen bases along with 4 triples and 15 doubles this season. Vinnie Pasquantino has 21 doubles with 9 homers and 53 RBIs of his own on the year.

Why the Kansas City Royals will win

  • The Royals have won each of their last 10 home games against AL Central opponents.
  • The Guardians have lost each of their last six games at Kauffman Stadium.
  • The Royals have covered the run line in each of their last seven home games against AL Central opponents.
  • The Guardians have failed to cover the run line in each of their last six games at Kauffman Stadium.

Kansas City Royals vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction

I’m on the under in this one. We saw a bunch of runs in a one-sided game on Friday, but I think pitching rules the day on Saturday. It’s not a crazy take to say that Bibee’s been Cleveland’s best starter this season, but Ragans is also one of the best arms in KC’s rotation as well. I think this calls back to what we saw in game one, a low-scoring duel. Take the under in the first five if you don’t want to deal with the bullpens, but I’ll go full game under as well.
