The Cleveland Indians and the Kansas City Royals meet in an AL Central division matchup in MLB action from Kauffman Stadium on Wednesday night.
The Cleveland Indians will try to build off of their 7-2 win over the Royals from Tuesday night. Amed Rosario led the charge, going 5 for 5 with a pair of home runs and five RBIs while Bobby Bradley added a two-run home run to cap off the scoring for the Tribe in the win. Myles Straw and Owen Miller each had two hits while Bradley Zimmer added a base hit as well to finish off the offense for Cleveland in the win. Zach Plesac got the win after dearling seven shutout innings, allowing just two hits while striking out seven to improve to 9-4 on the year. Logan Allen will start here and is 1-5 with a 7.53 ERA and 26 strikeouts this season.
The Kansas City Royals will try to bounce back from their disappointing loss to Cleveland on Tuesday. Andrew Benintendi had a double with an RBI while Carlos Santana added an RBI as well and Nicky Lopez also chipped in a double Whit Merrifield and Michael A. Taylor each had base hits as well for KC as the Royals cranked out just five hits as a team in the loss. Jakob Junis ended up with the loss on the mound, falling to 2-4 on the year after allowing three runs on four hits while striking out six over 4.2 innings of work. The Royals did not have a starting pitcher listed at the time that this article was published.
Cleveland is 3-7 in their last 10 Wednesday games and 11-5 in their last 16 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 3-0-1 in their last 4 game two matchups. Kansas City is 8-2 in their last 10 division games and 10-4 in their last 14 games overall while the under is 6-2 in their last 8 Wednesday games.
I’m really not looking to back this game, but if forced to pick, I’d side with the over. I’m not trusting Logan Allen as far as I can throw him in the opener role and both offense have come alive lately, which is kind of surprising from the Royals if I’m being perfectly honest. I think that a bit of offensive fireworks could be coming our way on Wednesday, so give me the over here.
