The New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Angels meet in MLB action from Angel Stadium on Wednesday night.

The New York Yankees will try to keep some momentum going after a solid offensive showing in Tuesday’s matchup. Entering Tuesday, Aaron Judge leads the Yankees with 50 home runs and 110 RBIs along with 136 hits and a .294 batting average in addition to 20 doubles while Gleyber Torres has 21 doubles and DJ LeMahieu has 18 doubles of his own. Anthony Rizzo also has 19 doubles so far this season, in addition to logging 29 home runs and 70 RBIs. Gerrit Cole will start here and is 10-6 with a 3.31 ERA and 200 strikeouts this season.

The Los Angeles Angels will look to come back after falling behind early and often in Tuesday’s matchup. Going into Tuesday, Mike Trout has 88 hits, 18 doubles, 58 RBIs and 28 home runs while Jared Walsh has 44 RBIs and Shohei Ohtani has 123 hits while adding 19 doubles, 29 home runs and 79 RBIs. Taylor Ward also has a .259 batting average as well this season. Patrick Sandoval will start here and is 4-9 with a 3.05 ERA and 120 strikeouts this season.

New York is 8-17 in their last 25 games overall and 4-12 in their last 16 road games while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games against the AL West. Los Angeles is 5-12 in their last 17 home games and 4-14 in their last 18 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600 while the over is 6-2-1 in their last 9 game three matchups.

I get the reasoning for the Yankees being favored, as they’re always going to get the name brand bias and they still own one of the best records in baseball. However, the Yankees are back to driving the struggle bus, and while Gerrit Cole is one of their more household name pitchers, he hasn’t pitched like an ace consistently. The Angels are starting to see the bats heat up after Mike Trout returned, and Patrick Sandoval’s issue is that he can pitch well but the offense never really seems to back him up. I think the offense comes to play here and the Angels keep this one close if they don’t win outright. Give me the Angels +1.5 here.
