The Chicago White Sox and the Miami Marlins meet Friday in MLB action from LoanDepot Park. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Miami Marlins vs Chicago White Sox Prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The Chicago White Sox will send out Drew Thorpe for the start here and is 2-1 with a 4.43 ERA and 13 strikeouts this season. This will be Thorpe’s first career start against the White Sox. Bryan Hoeing will get the start for the Marlins and is 0-0 with a 1.83 ERA and 16 strikeouts this season. This will be Hoeing’s first career start against the White Sox.

Chicago White Sox Recap

The Chicago White Sox come into this one looking to bounce back from their series loss to the Cleveland Guardians, falling short in Thursday’s series finale by a final score of 8-4. The loss meant that the White Sox would be unable to build on their series triumph over the Colorado Rockies from last weekend.

White Sox Hoping To Pick Up Some Rare Wins

Gavin Sheets has a .233 batting average and a .329 OBP along with a team-high 17 doubles and 28 RBIs while Andrew Vaughn also has 11 homers and 41 RBIs and Andrew Benintendi has 6 home runs and 24 RBIs with Vaughn logging 15 doubles as well as a team-high 75 hits. Paul DeJong also has a team-high 16 home runs and 36 RBIs with a team-high 93 strikeouts as well this season.

Why the Chicago White Sox will win

  • The Marlins have lost each of their last five games as favorites against American League opponents.
  • The White Sox have won each of their last four games as road underdogs following a road loss.
  • The Marlins have failed to cover the run line in each of their last 15 games as home favorites following a loss.
  • The White Sox have covered the run line in each of their last eight games as road underdogs following a loss.

Miami Marlins Recap

The Miami Marlins will be out to bounce back from being swept by the Boston Red Sox after taking a 6-5 loss in Thursday’s series finale. The series defeat meant that the Marlins were unable to build any momentum after earning a series split with the division rival Phillies last weekend and it kept their winless run going after losing their series with the Royals prior to that.

Marlins Trying to Get Out Of NL East Basement

Bryan De La Cruz has 83 hits including 16 doubles, 15 home runs and 41 RBIs while Josh Bell has 15 doubles, 8 home runs and 35 RBIs of his own. Jazz Chisholm Jr. has 82 hits with 12 doubles, 4 triples, 10 home runs, 40 RBIs and a team-high 15 stolen bases while Jesus Sanchez has 6 stolen bases as well this season.

Why the Miami Marlins will win

  • The White Sox have lost each of their last eight Friday road games.
  • The Marlins have won seven of their last eight games against AL Central opponents following a loss.
  • The Marlins have covered the run line in each of their last five games against the White Sox.
  • The White Sox have failed to cover the run line in each of their last four games as road underdogs against NL East opponents.

Miami Marlins vs Chicago White Sox Prediction

I’m on the White Sox here. I just think there’s no real situation in where the Marlins should be favored, even against the White Sox, who have the worst record in baseball. Chicago’s been competitive against much better than the Marlins in recent games, and Drew Thorpe’s had some solid outings outside of the one bad start in Arizona. The White Sox actually have the better bullpen as of late as well, so I’ll take the value with the White Sox here.
