In this article we will formulate a Miami Marlins vs Texas Rangers prediction for this MLB game on Sunday, June 2nd at loanDepot park in Miami, Florida. Let’s take a look at the prediction for game three in the series.

Marlins Look for Another Series Win

The Miami Marlins are 21-38 this season and they have lost three of their last five games. Miami won game one in this series by a score of 8-2 on Friday, but they were shutout on Saturday in the loss. Prior to this series, the Marlins lost two out of three against the Padres, won two out of three against the Diamondbacks, and won two out of three against the Brewers. Miami has won four of their last five series, but they continue to be last in the NL East.

The Miami pitching staff has a 4.53 ERA, a 1.37 WHIP, and a .251 opponent batting average. The Marlins offense has scored 219 runs with a .236 batting average and a .291 on base percentage. Bryan De La Cruz is batting .249 with nine home runs and 25 RBI’s for the Marlins this season. Miami is 28th in the MLB in runs scored this season and they have scored three runs or fewer in seven of their last nine games.

Rangers Trying to Stay Consistent Offensively

The Texas Rangers are 28-30 this year and they have won four of their last five games. Texas lost game one in this series on Friday, but they won game two by a score of 7-0 on Saturday. Prior to this series, the Rangers won both games against the Diamondbacks, lost two out of three against the Twins, and were swept by the Phillies. Texas is just 5-8 in their last 13 games, but they are second in the AL West behind Seattle.

The Texas pitching staff has a 4.02 ERA, a 1.31 WHIP, and a .232 opponent batting average. The Rangers offense has scored 258 runs with a .243 batting average and a .313 on base percentage. Corey Seager is batting .270 with 13 home runs and 29 RBI’s for the Rangers this season. Texas is 10th in the MLB in runs scored this year and they have scored at least six runs in three of their last five games.

Starting Pitchers

The projected starting pitcher for Miami is Trevor Rogers, who is 1-6 with a 5.65 ERA and a 1.80 WHIP over 51.0 innings pitched this year. Rogers has allowed at least four earned runs in three of his last five starts, but did allow just one earned run in the other two outings against Detroit and San Diego. The projected starting pitcher for Texas is Andrew Heaney, who is 1-6 with a 4.47 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP over 50.1 innings pitched this season. Heaney has allowed two earned runs or fewer three of his last four starts, but did make his last appearance as a reliever.

The Rangers have won 20 of their last 25 day games against NL East opponents.

Six of the Marlins’ last seven games after playing the previous day have gone UNDER the total runs line.
The ‘Inning 1 UNDER 0.5 runs’ market has hit in each of the Rangers’ last eight games as favorites.
The ‘Inning 1 UNDER 0.5 runs’ market has hit in each of the last five day games between the Rangers and Marlins.

Miami Marlins vs Texas Rangers Prediction

Texas was able to bounce back with a win on Saturday after a blowout loss on Friday, but can they stay consistent enough to pick up another win here? The Rangers are 14-17 on the road, but their offense is starting to pick up the production. Miami is 11-20 at home, but they have played a lot better over the last few weeks. The Marlins are starting Trevor Rogers, who has been pretty bad so far this year. The Rangers are starting Andrew Heaney, who has slightly better numbers than Rogers, but he has pitched very well recently. I don’t know what it is, but I like this Texas team and I continue to take them despite their struggles. I like their lineup more than Miami’s and they have the better starter. My Miami Marlins vs Texas Rangers prediction is for the Rangers to get another win.
