The Cleveland Indians and the Minnesota Twins meet in an AL Central division matchup in MLB action from Target Field on Wednesday night.

The Cleveland Indians will look to bounce back after settling for a split in Tuesday’s double header, winning game one 3-1 before a 6-3 loss in game two. Game one saw Bradley Zimmer log a solo homer and Austin Hedges put up a double with an RBI and Yu Chang had a pinch-hit RBI as well. Triston McKenzie got the win to improve to 5-6 after six innings of one run ball with seven strikeouts. Emmanuel Clase closed the final frame for his 23rd save. Game two saw Amed Rosario and Jose Ramirez each have a double and an RBI while Franmil Reyes added an RBI as well. Logan Allen took the loss, falling to 1-7 on the year after allowing four runs on sevn hits in 3.2 innings of work. Cal Quantrill will start here and is 5-3 with a 3.04 ERA and 106 strikeouts this season.

The Minnesota Twins will look to pick up some momentum after salvaging the split in game two of the double dip on Tuesday. Game one saw Andrelton Simmons hit a double with an RBI to plate the lone run for Minnesota while Josh Donaldson added a double as well as Minny had just three hits in game one. Joe Ryan gave up one run over five innings, but it was Daniel Coulombe that took the loss in relief to gall to 3-2. Game two saw Ryan Jeffers go 3 for 3 with a home run, a double and four RBIs while Willians Astudillo had a double with an RBI also and Nick Gordon had a pair of hits with an RBI. Charlie Barnes allowed three runs on four hits in four innings in the start, but it was Alex Colome that closed the 9th for his 14th save. Griffin Jax will start here and is 3-3 with a 6.72 ERA and 51 strikeouts this season.

Cleveland is 13-4 in their last 17 games as a favorite and 5-2 in their last 7 road games while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games following a loss. Minnesota is 2-5 in their last 7 games overall and 2-6 in their last 8 home games while the under is 11-4 in their last 15 division games.

This is an interesting matchup on Wednesday, but I’m still leaning towards the Indians here. Cleveland needs wins to make up any sort of ground in the AL Wild Card stadnings, while the Twins have been out of the race since April if we’re being honest and Griffin Jax taking the mound won’t help the Twins. Give me Cleveland here.
