The Cleveland Indians and the New York Yankees meet in MLB action from Yankee Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Cleveland Indians will look to build off of their 11-3 win over the Yankees from Saturday afternoon. Andres Gimenez, Yu Chang and Franmil Reyes each had a multi-hit game and three RBIs with Gimenez adding a three-run home run while Reyes had a two-run shot with a double and Chang had a solo homer with a double as well. Jose Ramirez had a solo home run while Owen Miller had an RBI as well to finish off the scoring for Cleveland in the win. Oscar Mercado also added a double while Myles Straw chipped in a base hit as well to finish off the Tribe’s offense as a team in the win. Aaron Civale got the win to improve to 11-4 after tossing six innings of four-hit shutout ball with four strikeouts. Eli Morgan will start here and is 2-7 with a 6.03 ERA and 70 strikeouts this season.

The New York Yankees will look to bounce back from their loss to the Tribe on Saturday. All three RBIs came via home runs, as Luke Voit blasted a two-run shot and Giancarlo Stanton had a solo home run to cap off the scoring for the Yankees in defeat. DJ LeMahieu had a pair of hits with a double and Gary Sanchez had a pair of hits as well while Gleyber Torres and Tyler Wade each had base hits too to cap off the offense for New York. Luis Gil got the win to improve to 1-1 on the year after allowing two runs on three hits while striking out six over 4.1 innings of work. Gerrit Cole will start here and is 15-7 with a 2.75 ERA and 224 strikeouts this season.

Cleveland is 3-8 in their last 11 games overall and 16-37 in their last 53 games as an underdog while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 Sunday games. New York is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall and 38-15 in their last 53 games against the AL Central while the under is 5-2-1 in their last 8 Sunday games.

I get the importance of this game for both teams, but as tempting as the plus money is with the Tribe, I’m not backing Eli Morgan with your money or mine. On the other hand, Gerrit Cole hasn’t been the steadiest of pitchers as of late and the Bronx Bombers aren’t playing well enough to lay the price simply because of Gerrit Cole and name brand. I’ll side with the over as I do expect both sides to put runs on the board.
