The Cleveland Guardians and the Oakland A’s meet Saturday in MLB action from the Oakland Coliseum. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Cleveland Guardians vs. Oakland A’s prediction.

Cleveland Guardians Team Preview

The Cleveland Guardians will look to build on their 2-0 start after a 6-4 win over Oakland on Friday. Jose Ramirez and Andres Gimenez each have a team-high 3 RBIs, with Gimenez leading the Guardians with 4 hits and 2 doubles while Ramirez has a triple and a home run. Josh Naylor also has 3 hits with a pair of doubles and Steven Kwan and David Fry each have 3 hits as well this season. Brayan Rocchio has the dubious distinction of leading the Guardians with 4 strikeouts through two games this season. Tanner Bibee will get the start for Cleveland here and was 10-4 with a 2.98 ERA and 141 strikeouts last season. After this series, the Guardians will meet the Mariners and Twins.

Oakland A’s Team Preview

The Oakland A’s come into this one looking for their first win after another frustrating loss to start the year. J.D. Davis leads the A’s with 3 hits including a pair of solo home runs while Nick Allen also has 3 hits with a double this season. JJ Bleday has 2 hits with a double of his own while Zack Gelof leads Oakland with 4 strikeouts up to this point in the year. JP Sears will get the nod for the A’s on the mound here and was 5-14 with a 4.54 ERA and 161 strikeouts for Oakland last season. The Athletics will face the Red Sox following this series.

Guardians vs. A’s Prediction

I’m on the Guardians again here. Sears is likely the best option for the A’s once again this season and more often than not, like the last year and a half, will be Oakland’s best shot at getting a win from their starting pitching any turn through the rotation. However, there’s just no shaking how bad this Oakland team looks already out of the gate and the A’s are likely going to be up there for contention as the worst team in baseball this season. Cleveland should win this game again with no issues as Bibee was a decent option for them last season. Give me Cleveland here.
