Detroit Tigers
The Tigers did well in the opener of this series with a 7-3 win. Andy Ibanez had two hits and two RBI to aid the cause. Game two didn’t go so well, though; that one turned into an 8-2 loss to even the series. On Saturday Detroit couldn’t get much going on six team hits in a 4-1 loss. Zach McKinstry had two hits and plated the only run.
In the starter role for the Tigers on Sunday it’ll be Eduardo Rodriguez. This year in his 24 starts Rodriguez is 11-9 with a 3.57 ERA and 133 Ks in 138.2 innings. Rodriguez is 3-4 with a 5.79 ERA in his last seven starts.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK
I’ll probably try Oakland in this one. At least some of that is due to Rodriguez’s recent struggles. Over his last three starts Rodriguez is 1-2 with 12 earned runs in a span of 14.1 innings. In his last two Rodriguez has nine earned in 8.1 innings, so the A’s should have some shots at the plate if he can’t get it going early. On Saturday Oakland made the most of six team hits. The A’s now have three or more runs in four straight games, and if they can keep the offense rolling behind Sears, Oakland will be in great shape.
