South Korea and the United States face off in the semifinal game of the Olympic baseball tournament. The winner of this game goes to the gold medal game, while the loser will play for the bronze.

These two opened up their Olympics against each other and it was the USA that was able to win 4-2.

South Korea had a chance to already have their spot in the gold medal game locked in, but they lost to Japan 5-2. South Korea heads into that game with a 2-2 record overall and they had won two games in a row before losing to Japan. Two games ago against Israel, South Korea’s offense really broke out scoring 11 runs, and in this game that offense is going to be important. Kim Hyun-soo was the best player for South Korea finishing with three hits, two runs, and two RBIs. The pitching for the most part has been strong for South Korea, and this game will probably come down to how the offense performs.

On the other side of this matchup is the United States who beat the Dominican Republic 3-1 in the last game to advance to this game. The United States has looked good during the Olympics, and the only loss came against Japan, a game they lost by a run after blowing a lead late. In that last game against the Dominican Republic, the USA scored two runs in the first inning and never looked back as they came away with the 3-1 victory. Triston Casas was the best player for the United States in the last game finishing with two RBIs.

The United States is the much better team, and they are going to have no issues cruising to a victory in this game. Look for the United States to get another good pitching performance, and that will lead to the favorites winning this game on the run line.
